I enjoyed this episode. The guys made a lot of good points about the E30 but while I'll never get to own one, I'm glad that this car exists and the automotive world is better because of it.
The growing desire for this car is causing manufactures to finally take the cheap/balanced sports car drive/enthusiast market seriously again. The BRZFRSGT86's general success is showing that this can and will be a worthy market niche. As I mentioned above, I'll never get to own one, but I'm sure as hell glad this cars exists

The problem, and they talked about it, is that it is really hard to find a clean and not modified e30 that still look decent.

I had a seat time in one back in '96. It indeed is a great sports car.

no, way way too many produced for it to ever spike like the e30. especially in the US.
nostalgia is valuable. but theres something to be said about not giving a fuck that you are mr speed racer.

I owned one. Fun car. Since BMW only made about 14k it is or will be a real collector. The drawback is that since BMW only made a small number, they are way expensive to repair. I sold mine when engine rebuilds hit about $8k. That was a cheap rebuild with a good one going for $12k. Everything about e car is unique. it only shares doors and hood with other E30 cars on the exterior and a few parts inside. Even the front and back wind screen are different. Brakes, etc, etc are all different.
It's a go cart. Light, quick and fun. All that being said I like my e90 335i much better as a daily driver. 2x the horsepower but not 2x the weight. Owning an E30 M3 requires deep pockets. The intakes develop leaks due to design. The wheel bearings in the front wear. The valves need manual adjustment because they are shim and bucket. The heater cores eventually leak. Anyway they are fun when you aren't doing maint. |

there is an odd retired lady that drives past my office window everyday in a white immaculate e30 m3.. i get so jealous of her when i hear her downshift. They sound so sweet and look great. i should really start putting my business card and a note in her windshield.

Everybody got an opinion about this car value. But how many people on this forum would seriously buy this car?
I would not because BMW made better models that came after the E30 M 3. I got nothing against collectors. But as driver car for me, I already own one of those better models. |

And 2 E92 M3s Trust me The E30 is much more fun Sure, no heated seats, nav etc But in the fun to drive department, it's a winner Unless you drive your E92 at 9/10 all the time The E30 is still fun to drive at 5/10s Nimble, great engine, Light, good brakes Only thing I miss about my E92 is the S65 engine As much as I love the rawness of the S14, the S65 really is a spectacular engine

I daily drive my e30 m3 (53 miles per day) and the e90 m3 just sits in the garage. e30 is much more fun to drive even though it lack the refinements of the later model cars. I think anyone that rides motorcycles would agree, its not about all of the creature features when you are a true motorsport enthusiast, it's the thrill of getting there.

and why does he seem so nervous, keeps rocking back and forth and lifting his arm off his lap only to put it back on his lap 1.5 seconds later.
