Enabled Office! Then disappeared...
OFFICE - I once enabled everything in Office (sms, calendar, etc.), but I returned everything back to stock before I brought it in for the dealer. Now I can't remember how to re-enable! I enabled everything I could think of while coding under COMBOX/3002 PIM PARAMETER and under HU-CIC: MACRO_PIM . Anything else I'm missing? Thanks.

If you have 6NH, it's easier to just change it to 6NK and VO code the HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA ECU's. The VO coding will set all of the parameters for you.
They will enable office, streaming, album art, etc. |

Yes, just reverse the process. Change 6NK back to 6NH and VO code HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA.
It's not clear yet if that's even necessary, but it's probably safer to do it before you take it in. |

Thanks Frogman- one last question... I know there's pages and pages out there on this forum, but do you know where there is a simple step-by-step for VO Coding...? Also, if I VO Code, will I need to redo all my prior coding (for things unrelated to Office)? Thanks again.

1. Read VO
2. Read SVT 3. Save VO 4. Edit VO 5. Select SAPALA Elements 6. Locate 6NH and change to 6NK 7. Save VO 8. Back, E-sys will ask if you want to use the new FA, say yes. 9. VO Code HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA a. Select the ECUYes, VO coding will wipe out all of your HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA codings. You will have to re-apply them. |

Thanks! I'll try it later this week... Just in case, is anything in your instructions not self-explanatory? For example, in #5, will there be something on the screen that says "SAPALA" and I just expand it and look for 6NH to change to 6NK (by right-clicking and editing the value I'm assuming...). Thanks again!

The "E-Sys - Getting Started Supplement - Part 3.pdf" in the first post shows the procedure.
I skip steps 8, 9, and 10 of part 3 as performing the first VO code seems to write the modified FA to the car automatically. I'm sure either way will work. |

Frogman - I followed your instructions in changing 6NH to 6NK, however, when I click on "Office", only my address book shows up rather than calendar, sms, etc. I double checked after VO Coding to make sure that all of that was enabled too. Any other ideas? Thanks.

I believe it depends on the kind of phone you are using to connect with your car over Bluetooth:
Your phone has to support MAP Bluetooth AND for each of the messages you want to see for ex. MAP for SMS, MAP for email, MAP for calendar etc. Quote:

I don't know if those things are available without BMW Apps (6NR). Unfortunately, 6NR is not something that can just be coded, you need an FSC code too. |

I actually got it to work fully a couple of months ago but returned everything to default before bringing the car into the dealer. I forgot what I did.... I didn't need an fsc code. I actually did it without vo coding

Frogman - After I change to 6NK and save the FA, etc... I go to HU_CIC, right click it, and just click code, and that's it (besides doing the same to cmb_media)... Correct? When I click "code" on the actual ECU, that's VO coding it, correct? Thanks !

The only things that show up for bluetoith are telephone and audio. Shouldn't office or data transfer show up? I could have sworn I remember those showing up as an option when it was working. If so, any ideas on how to fix? Thanks.

Other things to check: 1. Hook up your rig to the car and read the VO and check the SALAPA elements to make sure 6NK is there. 2. Have you upgraded to the 1006 telephone/media firmware? You should be at version MX-3.5.4 and TX-3.5.6 3. Try deleting your phone from the car and re-pairing it. |

Don't mean to hijack this thread but Frogman, do you have BMW Live/Online working? I tried enabling all the parameters and it shows up but I can't seem to enable the data connection from my iPhone 4 over BT. I have personal hotspot enabled over BT. There is only "Talk" and "Audio" options in the bluetooth configuration. No data option.
When I click "BMW Live" or "Online Browser", it says please enable your bt connection. Please visit bmw.com/bluetooth for more info. |

I've seen other threads where people try to get BMW Live/Online working with inconsistent results. I have not tried coding it on anyone's car yet. The 2 cars I did 6NH to 6NK on were to enable BT streaming, Apple white cable support, and Office SMS/email only. They weren't trying to enable Live/Online. |

I tried for a while to get the browser working and ending upwith the same result as npgatech. Frogman - my screen doesn't look like yours. Its missing Office and show images. It shows both "telephone" and "additional telephone". For bluetooth audio, it just says "audio" even though bluetooth audio works. I'm 99% sure I'm on the latest bluetooth firmware (I updated within the past 2 months). I've also tried unpairing and repairing the bluetooth.
Do you know which bluetooth items needed to be coded...? I can double check them. I did enable everything where Office was located (sms, calendar ,etc.) and also made sure anything related to bluetooth was enabled. |
