Photoshop Experts, I need your help
I opened photoshop CS2 on my MacBook Pro today, and noticed some of my filters are missing. The usual ones: Blur, Noise, Pixelate, Sharpen, Stylize, and Other are all available, but everything elso doesn't even show up in the drop down (they don't even show up unselectable in light gray). They don't work on either 8 bit or 16 bit, and my images are in RGB.
I did mess around a little yesterday with some plugins for Bridge, but not in Photoshop. Any ideas?

Update to CS3. CS2 doesn't run natively on the Intel based Macs.

That's happened to me before; I don't remember the fix.
Some filters can't be used with certain formats, but RGB should work. Have you tried different images - corrupt file? Reboot? Updates? Maybe Adobe is checking up with you to make sure you're running a legit copy of CS. |

I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I just reinstalled which was kinda scary since I had to totally dump the application first. It's all fixed, cool thing was all my preferences stayed the same.

Check your cache. Sometimes CS2/3 will go out of wack when there's either not enough cache to be written too or there's 'too much' written to it.
Glad to hear that it's all fixed. Oh and check out http://www.tutorialized.com -- chock full of information for a novice!

When in doubt reinstall Should it happen again, you might try command-option-shift upon launching Photoshop to "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File". I've seen it clear up odd happenings before. Make sure you know what your settings (color profiles, dot gain, etc) are though if you use it.
