DS Not shifting Properly.

My second thread over the same 20minute car ride

I was driving in DS, in 2nd gear and it would not shift into 3rd. The car ran all the way up to about 6k rpm before i forced it to shift myself. I wasn't WOT, Close but not quite.

Recently I had a leaking Mechatronics tranny seal. Not sure if that has any relevance to it.

well maybe your transmission thought you were on a hill or you were hitting the throttle a little to hard? why didnt you just put it back in D if you wanted it to shift up?

Who did the work. Seems fairly relevant or could just be a fluke.

Check for codes first. Clear and see if the problem persist.

If it does I would look to see if your fluid is leaking or not filled correctly in some fashion.

BMW did the work of course. It just seems odd to me to be a fluke, it's happened other times.

No codes, no leaks I got under and checked.

From looking around on other posts the only thing i've found is DME issues, which i'm hoping it's not.

I've noticed that when I'm in "DS", the car never shifts out of 5th gear.

Is this normal? If so, that's very stupid. I have to flick the lever over to "D" if I want to enjoy DS pulling away from a light or getting onto the freeway, and then cruise in 6th once I am up to speed to enjoy better gas mileage.

Yeah, sport+ on my merc wouldn't go into 6th or 7th on its own. Had to force it in.

Same thing happened to me coming home from work. Not WOT. Just a little bit of a delay from 2nd - 3rd gear in DS. Little hesitant at the top of 6krpm's, but it shifted. To me it's normal, I seem to remember it happening when I don't go WOT. WOT and there's never a delay. Don't think the road I was traveling on was perfectly level too. You're probably fine.
