I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and up until recently, when I wanted to view forums, I would be presented with a simplified view of all the forum subjects instead of viewing the full blown sight with all images and banners. I did not ever install a third party app like Taptalk.

Not really the right place for this, but... if you're browsing with chrome, you can go into settings and check the box "Request Desktop Site" and you should get the full blown forums.
