Vanity plate ideas
Hiya,
the government here just approved the use of vanity plates... so since this idea is fresh and new, I thought I might try get a nice one... The plates stay with you for life, they are bound to you, as the plate owner, not to the car. You can sell them OFC Normal plate format in my country is 1A1 1111, or after they ran out of numbers it's now 1AA 1111. So, my ideas: Something cool: provided that you don't need to keep to the format of XYZ (******* 1111 - FASTONE, RWD4LIFE, SIDEWAYS, THE STIG, VROOM, HOUSEMD, STAYBACK, BECALM, OHWOW, 1337, DOCTOR, FLYBY Something to keep the cops away/at bay: B8B 088B (looks like plate 8B8 0888, normally issued), B88 8B88 (looks like 8B8 8888, nomally issued), etc. Something to make money in the future:BMW, NUMBER1, F1, 1, etc. Tips, ideas? |

I'm positive there are a bunch of other threads on these forums where people discuss how they can bring more unwanted attention to their car with a personalized plate.

Although I thought if a sure fire way to make sure my car never gets keyed at school. I would order a ASU license plate and write "UOFGAY" on it. Genius. Simply genius. (,:

Don't do it. However much it cost can be put to something useful. Vanity plates are douchey, draw unwanted attention and are generally easily recognizable. There may be an exception if it's something extremely clever and even that's pushing it.

Personally, I love personalized plates. Adds a bit of a personal touch to a car, especially when its almost stock like mine. As long as it is something benign and you don't drive like an asshat there shouldn't be any unwanted attention. I've run various plates on a few of my cars over the past few years and haven't had any problems. Right now I have "SPOOLIN". Here in WA personal plates are flat instead of having raised letters/numbers. It looks better and is easier to keep clean.
If you want personal plates, do it. Just choose wisely and know that by having an easily recognizable plate your actions on and off the road are going to be easily connected to your car

The general requirements for a vanity plate is that your car must
A. Cost more than 200K Or B. Have a sub 12 second 1/4 mile Or C. Be the ultimate sleeper. Then you can talk shit to anyone... |
