Dodged a bullet
Well after owning the perenial "hairdresser's car" for so many years (yes, that's a BMW Z3 for those of you who didn't know that's what journalists called the Z3), I was happy to read today that the BMW 3-series convertible isn't a chick car...at least, not chick car of the year. No that glorious award goes to the VW Eos convertible. After driving an Eros, I have to agree. It is far more friendlier than my technologically rich and race ready 335i vert.
If you'd like to know read more about the ladie's car of the year feel free to stop by Autoblog.com. But please don't call my E93 a chick car....

Hmmm...yeah. Doh! I meant Eos. It was a typing error or my sub conscience trying to tell me something I'll need some counselling for.

If someone says your car is exactly the same as theirs with same horsepower as theirs, etc. yet the top is capable of coming down and so that makes it a woman's or gay car, it makes no sense at all to me.
However, an underpowered Z3 roadster that was mostly made in light green I can understand.

SHit top down with a 335 is a chick magnet...I don't know what u guys are saying...Maybe with top down and Pink color that would be kind of a "Fudge packer" kind of color....Top up or down a vert is a chick magnet

Chicks dig convertibles. But they dig them because they want one. My personal opinion... all convertibles are a bit... "fem."
Awaits E93 flames.

My personal opinion... all sedans are a bit too family-oriented and for 40+ types. I'd much rather have a chick that wants a convertible than one that has a 2-year old.

Are we looking at a new intra-community flame thread? Instead of 328 vs 335, it will be E90 vs E92 vs E93?

I am definitely going for the more boring sedan look. Too bad they didn't make the 335i in the station wagon, I would have bought that for sure instead. I wanted an incognito car that handled well... Not a leaky 2-door chick car.

Honest question for you E93 owners. If it's just you and another guy (sitting shotgun) driving around town with the top down do you feel completely comfortable? Maybe it's just my homophobia but I would feel really akward.

LOL @ Ryan. I think it's a lot worse in a Miata, or the absolute worst... in a VW Cabriolet.

I think you answered your own question. The only man who worries about it is one who's afraid he has something to worry about. Personally, I've never thought twice about it, but that's probably because my girl is in the front seat more than any guy.
In all seriousness though, I think the E93 is a different breed of convertible than the VW. But I think that goes for BMWs in general. Just in my row in the garage at work are 2 6-series verts, my car, a 335 vert and an S4 vert and all are driven by guys. Now maybe I'm in a gayer than average building and just don't realize it, but I doubt it. Plus it's LA... none of that small town thinking here.

LOL, even worse - the 12 year old would probably complain about leg room in the back on top of everything else.
