Stiff steering 2009 335i

car: 2009 335i e92 59,000KM.

Background:
So some of you might know there was a massive rain storm in and around Toronto causing power loss and flooding. Last night, and i'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but.. Driving home, i drove across a huge mini pond probably close to 1 feet deep around 80km/h, as you can imagine huge amounts of water gushed from both wheel wells as i drove across the pond. A bit shocked but i figured it was just water and it wasnt deep so whatever.

Issue:
-2 days later, coming off from my driveway i immediately notice the steering is really stiff compared to normally stiff BMW steering. After driving it a few KM's on the highway the steering issue seemed to resolve itself so i park the car and go on with my day. Around 4-5 hours later i come back and start the car and boom stiff steering again. when i dry steer the wheel in park i notice the stiff steering isnt consistent but has its "stiff" spots as i rotate the wheel full left and full right.

Searching online some culprits seems to be the steering pump or serpentine belt. Popped the hood and belt seems fine, pullys (from what i can see) are all there. I also noticed my AC isnt that strong but that might just be me being paranoid.

I probably live down the street from you lol and I wiped out in that storm on the 407 and my baby is now in the shop getting fixed.

Maybe in the puddle there was a piece of a tree branch that damaged something? Either way take it to get looked at. A problem with steering is not something I would mess around with.
