Shifting Weird, Help!

My car is getting a backpressure jolt on the decel of 5 MPH and lower. The car jolts and almost "freezes" when it does, any idea? This doesn't happen everytime but, if I slowly let it decel, it feels like it gets a jolt of backpressure going through the exhaust.

In sport or regular driving? In sport it will shift down to first and jolt if you slowly come to a stop. In regular drive it stays in second.

In drive mode only, sport mode feels a bit jolty (because the downshifting) this isn't a downshift more like my car freezes and just spits a quick back pressure through.

I was told this could be my torque converter... isn't that crazy expensive to fix? I have an extended warranty on the engine and transmission, bought the car less than 3 months ago.

Does anyone else think that it's the torque converter?

This is a common issue with the ZF transmission because of the electronic stall on the torque converter. I said it was the torque converter, but I never said it was an issue. It's not an issue and it's just something you'll have to live with unless your transmission is not running the latest flash and programming. Once you get your cable, we can check that as well as resetting the adaptation which could clear it up.

Thanks Wedge, makes sense... I'm hearing a cracking noise as well in my exhaust while driving sometimes (exhaust leak)?
