Suspension and hopping over bumps

Hi,

I have noticed when pressing on, if there is a little bump on the corner the car feels like it hops a little and the DTC flashes.

Is this normal for e92s? Admittedly the roads near me arent brillaint, but my old Evo 6 had coilovers and didnt hop.

Is this a tell tail sign of worn suspension components? Its generally quite a good ride for the most part.

Cheers

If you are flooring it over bumps with DTC off (traction control on) this is pretty common. You are just getting a bit of slip between the rear wheels. Press the DTC button and it will go away. There is a bit of road by me with a little camber and had a slightly rough surface due to some minor potholes until till they filled them. Every time i went over these bumps DTC would flash even at 30mph.

Yeah its not that, its that you can feel the wheels hop a little and loose contact .

Yup, Pirelli PZero RFTs. Once they are worn out, regulars will be fitted. Any mid range tyres recommeneded?

Wont be tracked as a I have a E36 track car.

Still as good ride as stock for the road? How do they compare to the Bilstein B4S that seem to be the replacements?

M Sport suspension with run-flats is a pretty horrible ride on the bumps. It does feel juddery at times.
You compare with an Evo VI, but remember this car weighs 250-300kg more and is RWD. It will never grip like an Evo.

Oh yeah course, i'm not comparing the grip to the evo and it grips just fine for a road car anyway, it was just the noticable hopping on the bumps, even the missus Astra doesnt do that, but it could be the run flats I guess

before you spend change the rfts to non rfts and then judge from there whether you want more grip etc because the difference between rfts and non rfts is like chalk and cheese...its that much of a difference!

Sorry, I think I haven't worded what I mean properly. Not lacking in grip at all, it just seems to skip over bumps when turning.

But yeah, ill be changing to non RFTs when they are worn out
