New sump

Hi

Looks i need a new sump. They was a very minor crack about 2mm. I managed to put on sum metal weld which stopped the leak. However after 2 weeks there is still a slight leak. I am looking to change the sump. Does anybody know the cost of a new sump? Or is there anything else i can do before buying a new sump?

Thanks

Get it professionally welded.

Out of interest, do you know what caused the crack?

The gearbox mounting bolts were put in the wrong order. I beleive when the new clutch was fitted. Well i think its the gearbox mounting bolts. However somebody used a longer bolt instead of shorter bolt causing a slight crack. Swapped bolts over to correct ones. Drained oil and put quick steele. However after 2 weeks there is a very slight leak. But id rather have no leak at all. Have applied more quick steele to see if that fixes it. If not then il have to get a new sump fitted. Anyone know the cost of a new sump?

where did you have the new clutch fitted?
I would have taken it back to them and shown them that becuase the bolts were fitted in wrong size it has caused this crack and get them to replace

It was the previous owner who had the clutch fitted. But they are based over 100 miles away. I guess i could give them a call and see what they say. But i just rather get it fixed so it doesnt leak. The car is barely losing oil. Just odd drops. But i guess im going to have to keep an eye on it incase it gets worse. Ive left the under panel off for few weeks just to inspect. Is it ok to drive around without the under panel??
