Talking First time in a NFL league. I need help with picks!

Ok, so like the title says, this is the first time I have ever joined a league. My buddies are pretty hard core and I'm certainly the underdog. It's a $50 buy in not too bad but if I come in 3rd or more I'll make my money back and more if I make 2nd or better.

I just started watching NFL last year, so I know I'm behind the eight ball on knowing good players. So if anyone can give me 3-4 good suggestions on any position, it will be a huge help.

Thanks,
Josh

Dude!! You can join the NFL for $50!?!?! That's awesome!! Can't believe you can just buy in like that AND make your money back after a season!

Man, good positions... that's tough.. You should chose to play as QB. If you can't do that i'd be a RB or maybe a WR. So cool! I think i'm going to join too!

Dude... Just got to a fantasy sports website and print off their top 100 players and draft accordingly. You can't be that big of an idiot, My friends wife is in our league and she is an idiot but even she has some common sense to understand research on the fantasy boards.

Get your halfbacks early. After the first few rounds the talent level goes downhill. You can wait for quarterbacks and tight ends. Brady and Matt Ryan produces nearly identical stats but Brady usually goes a couple rounds earlier based on his name recognition.

Tight ends sleeper- Jermaine Gresham. Quietly got 60 receptions for 700 yards and 5 tds. Gets better every year, IMO this is the season he breaks out. I expect 800 yards and 8tds from him.

While the draft is an important first step for your team, in my opinion, it's even more important how you manage your team during the season. Download some Fantasy Football podcasts and listen to them for advice throughout the season. The two I recommend are "ESPN Fantasy Focus" and "CBS Fantasy Focus Today". I listen to them on my iPod while I'm in my car driving or at work (before my kids arrive - I'm a teacher). I'm sure there are other good ones too but I only have enough time to listen to a couple of them throughout the week.
