Valentine 1 and the new Escorts are both very good. In the main, I doubt it matters much which you buy. If you are just committed to speeding, you are going to need a laser jammer too. If most of your driving is on highways, you probably also should get a CB radio. Truckers still use them and the chatter is nearly always relevant to what's going on on the roads. Lastly, be sure to install every app you can find that warns of speed traps, stationary radar/laser, etc.

Have you considered just slowing down? That approach works 100% of the time. Were it a choice between my job and slowing down, I'd slow the f*ck down.

Good luck.

You'd think after 2 speeding tickets you would have learned your lesson by now, but apparently not...

Bel Vector v995

I have owned and compared almost all the top radar detectors on the market and found that this, with nearly the same internal components as the escort 8500 but sub 200$ price is the absolute best valued detector. I currently have a smartradar on my windshield(traded my brother for one of my v995s to compare with the gps function). BTW, compared at the same time, the V1 performed poorly next to many different escort models. It missed a significant amount of visually confirmed cops using Ka band which the others picked up and was soooooo unnecessarily annoying.

I've used the Passport Escort 9500ix and have nothing but good to say about it.with the GPS filter on, it's on point and pretty accurate on detecting laser and red light cameras.

Accurate at detecting laser is about as useless as being accurate about global warming. By the time you find out about it, the damage is done.

Were I choosing, I'd pick Escort Redline and Blinder. With DSP now part of radars, distance and advance warning are a speeder's best friends.

If one is committed to speeding, it's worth finding out what speed measurement tools are in use in the areas one drives most often. There are several systems in use in the US of which no radar detector will warn.
