Slide Fire automatic rifle conversion for AR15 & AK47 - yes, they're DOJ/ATF legal!

They also make a conversion kit for AR-15s http://www.slidefire.com/products/ar15 for $370, or you can pick up a converted AR-15 from them for $1850.

They are a lot of fun. You could get a deal on them when AR ammo was nearly $2/ round!
I was thinking of converting my 22lr to one of those.

It is the same kind of trick paint baller use, you are still pulling the trigger each time by they have mechanize that allows you to pull it faster than you normally can.

I actually saw on which has a mechanism that attached to the trigger guard and you crank it like a gatling gun and it turns a semi-auto into almost full auto.

it may not be too reliable

Doesn't seem too reliable right now...seems it would malfunction a majority of the time

I don't think the .22 has enough pop to work reliably

I would have one, but it's a big no-no in CA.

they are not really good for anything but making noise and having fun, but I would still have one

They are on gunbroker for $275...... Everywhere else shows $360.

Then a trigger.... Another $250 unless you get the Slidefire for $175.

I was looking last night, hovering over the buy now button, but didn't pull the trigger. (pun intended)

I have to agree, i want one now, 22 is so much fun for things like this and at the end of the day you did not break then bank.

With the much lead that fast a 22 version is just as good as protection as a higher caliber version.

I just realized that the part number for the slide fire stock that fits the S&W M&P 15-22 is interchangeable with any AR that uses a buffer tube.

It, just, got, interesting.....

Used em before.
Once you get used to pulling the gun away from you it works well.
Ammo is too expensive to play with it much.

Thought you read their FAQ a long time ago *lol*

http://www.slidefire.com/faqs#ssar
Quote:
1. What type of AR-15 will the SSAR-15® work with?

The SSAR-15® is compatible with all standard AR-15 lower platforms equipped with an adjustable style buffer assembly. As long as your AR already has a collapsible stock, you should not have any issues with installation. Since it was not possible for us to test the SSAR-15® on every AR on the market, Slide Fire® recommends firearms built using mil-spec parts to avoid any compatibility issues.

2. What do I need to use your stock on my fixed or folding stock AR-15?

Since SSAR-15® is designed to work on any AR-15 lower platform with an adjustable-style buffer assembly, any AR with a fixed or folding stock will need to be converted to allow installation of our stock. Slide Fire® offers a Conversion Kit sold separately which includes all other parts and installation tools needed to ready your firearm to work with the SSAR-15® or any other adjustable stock.

3. What type of adjustable style buffer tube is needed to use the SSAR-15®?

Most commercial style buffer tubes will work, but after extensive testing, Slide Fire® recommends using a Mil-Spec Buffer Tube for the best possible fit. While it is rare, some commercial style buffer tubes have a larger diameter which could cause friction issues with the sliding motion of the stock.

I didn't read the FAQ. But your stupid thread has cost me the price of a trigger and a slide fire stock!! I'll call this thread expensive!

Should be here soon!

Why the new trigger? My buddy has one with stock trigger and it seems to work well.

Everything i read from user reviews said that you needed a lighter trigger to make it work.

Either way, i believe the trigger assembly is also compatible with ARs so if i don't need it, i'll just sell it. Got a pretty sweet deal on a Timney 3# trigger. So i should break even or better if i sell it.

Apparently this is eaxctly what's makes it legal. The "pulling forward" force has to come from the user's hand.

If they simply installed a spring into the stock that would bounce off recoil, the whole thing would immediately became illegal.
