Permanent live battery connection
I'm familiar with adding a wire to a battery for a perm live, but don't fancy messing about with that red distribution thing on the battery, is there an easy way to do it?
I need to sort one in the boot for my Dension, and direct off the battery is the obvious option (I would add a fuse) |

Does it have any spots on the block? You can get a spade that clicks in to an existing empty plug, or a spade and plug from bmw. Both cost me about £4.
Part numbers are in my audio thread in this part of the forum.

Just get your phone camera in there and make sure there is a connecting female spade in the plug. Some on mine were empty, but there was one available.

Just had a look, it looks like I've got a spare. I stuck a voltmeter prong in it and got 12 volts so I guess the spade is present. So I just need the inner bit that goes on the cable?

Guys
You need to make sure what amperage is the charge holding? That distribution block has fuses inside and each of them have different amperage. If your charger / device is of higher amperage than the fuse in it, you will melt / blow it. And you'll have to but a new bst then. How to find the power rating? Take that box out. Dissect it and amp rating is printed on the metal plate inside.

That is the same as mine... As Sam indicates its fueed and I found the block plate for it when doing mine and its 60amp fuse. The lookup for it is in the audio section somewher... But if your going for the one between the red cables, you will have a black double plastic plug that clips out. You just need the metal spade connector, then push it in until it clicks...
