I'll start
I am an art director for Macy*s, and my previous job was at Maxim (the magazine) and before these 2 jobs, I was a student and worked in 2 printing companies and did a couple of freelance jobs However, designing is a cool job. don't you guys agree? :P |

I taught 3d animation and graphics at a school for graphic designers. Then from that, got referred to 2 jobs building 3d model homes out of blueprints i was given using 3ds max as well as Maya.
I received a business card from a graphic director at PIXAR so am hoping i get into the internship with them. i am far from a real graphic designer since i am just a student and do this on the side, but it is definitely a career i hope to get into. |

Have always been into art since as a kid, almost went into architecture after high school but instead went to school for 3D animation and motion graphics.
Majored in 3D and am a certified Maya modeler (although haven't used it in a while). Realized that 3D really wasn't my deal after college. Was a web designer before college and after college worked at a large company as the lead web and multimedia designer. The company was bought and split apart so everyone lost their jobs (other than the engineers). I decided to just stay on my own freelancing afterwards instead of working in another company and here I am. I've been freelancing for 5 years but this is the first one I've done it full time and it's certainly a change. I love the flexibility, ability to be creative, wide range of clients, etc but it's a real pain not knowing what is around the corner a few months from now. Any regrets? A few. I wish I didn't pursue 3D in college and instead took classes to get my masters in business. As I was already a decent designer before college (more in the graphic side instead of 3D side) I could have got by on my own but now running my own business it would have helped to get started. I may go for my masters in business in the next couple years if I have some extra cash.

What more could you ask for? Models, Photo-shoots, ads, direct mail, photo shop 24/7, and Minions... Just do not plan on making any real money at it. I mean more than the National Household Average sure, but deep six figures aren't happening until you are on your own and it's a pretty competitive market, especially now... I'm not that ambitious, so yeah pretty happy with where I am at, get paid well to have fun, and the responsibilities are pretty minor...
