Replacing Oil Filter Housing Gasket - Do I need to do full oil change???

I just recently did an oil change less than 1K miles ago.

I have extra oil.

I'd rather not do a full oil change. Shouldn't the oil settle in the pan over night and only leave me with the oil in the filter and filter housing unit?

Part of me wants to just go get a new filter and oil but it seems excessive since I just did it.

No you'll be fine. What you said is fine. I just did the same thing and barely lost any oil. Buy a quart just in case you lose some though.

Did you flush the coolant or just top it off? One thing I am not familiar with. Appreciate your help!

I refilled lost coolant and initiated the self bleed process (search for coolant DIY for self bleed)

Have lots of towels and rags ready to grab coolant.
