2x Long Cranks this morning

Can't be a good sign. Two long cranks this morning to go to work. Then the car ran fine. I had the recall for the HPFP and injectors back about 2yrs ago. This is the first I've ever had an issue. Guessing I will need a HPFP in the near future. Really inspires confidence in the car. For whatever reason the germans don't care about reliability. My wife's new 22k TDI Jetta had a catastrophic diesel HPFP failure. Left us stranded. And Turbo cars by nature are problematic. I can't wait to get my Hemi Ram next year and just have my 335i as a weekend cruiser. I need to stop making fun of my neighbors who all bought Infiniti and Lexus. Joke's on me.

Hmm. Looks like it's an HPFP issue. Sorry to hear bro. I bought my 2010 335 new and have not had any issues whatsoever even with the replacement recall. Was fearful it was going to happen to mine at some point, but so far its been problem free. I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones. Good luck.

I hate to be this way but virtually EVERY engine(my 2009-2011 I think) will have at least one bout of injector problems (my 335 e92 had 2) which will probably leave you stranded somewhere. I also got to have my steering rack replaced along with steering hose (twice), HK radio died etc etc. Carbon buildup requires expensive cleaning at about 60,000 miles and thats guaranteed too. You Sir have been lucky so far........

^ Amen. New GS looks good. RWD. Seriously though.... Called BMW dealer, have an appt to drop it off tomorrow at 3pm and get a loaner. My CPO warranty is running up so I need to have them do the small oil leak on the front of the engine. Damn crank sensor or whatever is wet. Car has 49,8k on the clock. And I'm going to ask for a full inspection (minus brakes). As long as they swap the pump and check the injectors and fix my O-ring leak I'll be happy again. But for a daily driver this is a PITA. I wonder if the dealer does wal-nut blasting. See if they can do that also.

Udpate. Picked my car up Friday evening. They could not replicate the starting issue. They said the HPFP is working as it's supposed to. But I did have them fix the exhaust Vanos oil seals which were leaking on the front of the engine. At least I had them look at it and check it out. And the oil leak is fixed.
