Installed BMS DP's, Having timing correction issues?

Just got finished installing my DP's (a few bloody nuckle later). I re-used gaskets, didnt want to but it was all I had (new ones on the way). Upgraded my COBB tune to Stage 2+ (I have ETS 5", DCI, and BMS DP's now). I reset my adaptations, and went out for a drive. After about 30-40 miles I'm still getting some big timing corections. . . up to 6 degrees on multiple cylinders. I tried to make sure the v-band clamps werent blocking the wategate rods, etc.

Does it take the ecu that long to adapt to the DP's, or is something else going on? After installing my FMIC and going stage 1+ the car felt great, and im not feeling the same wow from the DP's. Would a leak at the gaskets cause this much problem?

Thanks!

What fuel and map are you running? I can't see location info on my phone.

Running tier 1 93 octane, with COBB's Stage 2+FMIC aggressive.

I also just replaced spark plugs about a month ago, when I installed the FMIC. Injectors are only a couple months old, and walnut cleaned at the same time. Logs after FMIC install on Stage 1 +FMIC aggressive were always really clean.

Only one way to find out if it's too aggressive. Go to a less aggressive map and see if it cleans up.

I"ll be honest I didn't look at your logs but if your fuel trims are maxed out or something they may reducing timing.
If you can put your logs in datazap.me I'd be happy to look at them thoroughly.

Thanks Jeff,

I created an account on datazap under the same username. Never used it before, but here's the URL I had for the log I uploaded:

Just a thought that will not help you now but will down the road. Never make multiple changes without testing each individual one as you add it on to the car. Troubleshooting a multi-change problem can be a real PIA.

That being true I would be looking at too much boost for the fuel as step one.

The downpipes alone wont cause corrections. Could be your octane is not up to snuff and your tune is too aggressive for it.

Try stage2+ sport, and see how the car likes it. if it works well, then we'd know it's an octane limitation.

Timing corrections seem to clear up in the higher RPM range which is good. I notice you started the log from 3200 rpm. Try another log starting at 2000 or 2500 rpm instead, I've found my logs are cleaner when I do that. It seems boost gets to 18lbs so quick from that rpm range and the AFR is still high at that point which I think contributes to the cyl 1 timing take a dump and the cylinder corrections start.

Took the car out and tried a couple of different maps...Switched to Stage 2+ sport, then back to stage 1+Agg. Stage 1+Aggressive had been running very clean for about 3 months before DP install.

Both maps resulted in the same corrections. I only get fuel from two gas station that I know have fuel that my car runs well on, so Im thinking this isnt about octane.

I started watching my live data, and the corrections happen most often at 2000-2500rpm when I'm pretty light on the throttle. Mostly before the turbos spool. It all evens out as the rpms climb.

Two questions. . .
1. Is it possibly my LPFP? And, is this pressure fluctuation by the LPFP normal?

http://datazap.me/u/cruiserweight/stage-1aggressive-dps

2. Is the boost surge at the end of the pull normal? Looks like the wastegate has a spike at the end of the rpm range with an associated boost spike.

Not too familiar LPFP and normal operating conditions, can't help on that one

The boost surge you see at the end of the log I'm pretty sure is just the the throttle pate plate closing at the end of the run causing a boost spike. Nothing to worry about, and would not be there if you kept the throttle pinned and shifted to the next gear.

Boost is a little bumpy but timing correction wise looks ok to me.
