My 2014 F32(428i) xdrive Midnight Metallic Blue
Traded in 2010 alpine white 650i for a smaller more agile new 4 series (midnight blue) that did not disappoint . New series car with a new color that is different then the old midnight blue, as the 2014 version has aqua undertones in the metallic.
Being an M3 owner for 8 years, 650 for 3 years as both were DINAN (stages 1 through 3 on 650) and (stages 1 through 4) on the M3. I was surprised how quickly the 4 cyl Trubo with air mass and breathes moved. Did not believe it until I drove it right out of the dealers parking lot starting in sports mode, switch to Manuel after a few seconds, down shifted to 2nd, by the time we came to the 1st light (less then 2 blocks away) was at 100mph The Dealer was like, I guess we are getting some speeding tickets on this test drive..lol.. But we didn't The camera is not capturing the same color seen by eye with the Midnight Blue, that is much lighter with an undertone of aqua in real life. The pics are deceiving, ya have to see it in person to appreciate. Only have the 428 for two days, very happy so far. This new 4 series has the lowest center of gravity on any BMW coupe, it handles great, very tight. She is also 2 inches longer and wider then the 3 series and has the same gear box as my 2010 650. The sports package with the 18's and redline interior is a must. The only thing I am missing is the 7.2 ProLogic sound system, but the current sound system is fine. Can always add a sub later on

Yes that is true with the difference between the 6 and the 8, but the shifting feel is the same as the 650 with the addition of two more gears I was trying to post pics, but I got a message saying security token was not read. Will try again later

Congrats on your car I'm sad M Sport doesn't have dark blue, though...Imperial/Midnight would have been nice. |

They do offer Estroil Blue with the M Sport on the 4 series that looks beautiful. My m3 was Estriol Bue, figured I would try a new color for a change. I think I fixed the pic issue, had to make them much smaller, used my IPAD and they were to big for the forum

Thanks :-) Its worth seeing in person, camera isn't capturing the aqua metallic undertones, it a lighter and deeper.. BMW also did a great job in engineering the 4 series, some claim its just a 2 door 3 series without driving or seeing it
It was worth the wait :-)

If the sun ever comes out here, will post some more for sure
Here is an interesting review between the 435 and 428, The x35 use to be much faster then the x28, but not anymore. 428 quarter mile is 13.8 435 quarter mile is 13.3. This use to be a much wider margin .. Would like to see this in real life on the track, other then just simulation specs http://www.bimmerfile.com/2013/09/19...st-drive-428i/

Tanzanite is a really nice color, this is a little darker with a dark Turquoise color metallic undertone, that I am not picking up with the camera on my IPAD. Really need to go to the dealer and see it in person if its close enough to Tanzanite
In-order to get the estoril blue, must get the M package with it.. I had an estoril blue M3 for 8 years, figured get a new color this time

Joe, here is an idea, you can get the 4 series sport with the Tech and Premium packages (they want 53,400 but can get it for 50K like I did). Then later on if you want to bump the HP by another 50HP, I don't think the DINAN upgrade would be more then 6K. Now you get the best of both worlds for 56K :-)
Oh when you mentioned M, did you mean the M4 or the M Suspension/handling on the 4?

The Sun came out this morning Joe, but by the time I went out, it went back in, snapped a few more pics anyway, will post. hopefully tomorrow will find some sun. But the midnight blue still looks pretty hot, even without any sun, very unlike the Monaco blue and Orient Blue, especially the monaco that lost all color in low light.
