335i or C350?

Can i get your opinions on a 335i Sedan vs. a C350?

In my opinion:

335i:

Pros:
More fun to drive
More power
Free Maintenance

Cons:
Not as good looking inside & out (IMO)
Engine overheat concerns
$5K more when comparably equipped

I had the same delimma between the C350 sport and the 335i coupe. The maintenance was pretty important to me because I think its worth a couple of grand easy over the 50k you have it. So it somewhat negates the price advantage the C350 has. Plus in order to get the upgraded stereo you have to buy the Nav. What's up with that?

I should also mention that I have driven an E46 for the past 8 years. Also, now that I'm 8 years older than i was when i bought my E46, I feel that the C350 is more mature looking. But the performance of the BMW keeps pulling me back in!!

I drove the c350, no way is it better on the inside and out. The interior had very hard, cheap plastic. The drive was way to heavy. Was not impressed at all with the C350 plus MB reliability is down on the totum pole.
100% goes to the 335I BMW, just drive it once at there is no turning back. Holla

335i vs C350 I would vote 335i everytime simply because of the engine. The new C Class is a huge improvement over the old one and I personally like the styling, but the engine isn't even close.

328i vs C300 is a bit closer imo though since the engines are closer in output and the C300 is available with a 6 speed manual and in Canadian MSRP anyway, for the same price you get more standard features in the Benz.

Drive both back to back and see which suits your need and wants best.

335i is the obvious choice

no overheating issues anymore. that was like pre-march production. dont even worry about it at all.

Looks, with blackline tail lights you will get better looks than the merc. IMO, but that's subjective to tastes.

Bro, the difference between the 2 cars is DAY AND NIGHT, not kidding.

the merc. is a nice car still, but if ur looking for fun, handling, acceleration, responsiveness, then ur not looking for the 08 C-class. I might be a bit biased coz i own a 335, but my family has every benz you can think of, i kinda leaned towards a bimmer based on my knowledge of family cars.

oh, dont forget maintenance, it's a HUGE factor. changing oil for 300 at fletcher jones isnt fun

The c350 has nice chrysler gimmicks but very very cheaply built looks like it was made in China all spalsh no dash. Won't touch it, don't care how much less it is and what they load it up with the 335 is a different class.

in response to islandbimmer: honestly, i'd take a G35s sedan over the Merc, or a lexus IS/GS.

in any case, remember that 335 with a PROcede >>>>> C350, which is a $1300 mod

I would def. choose the 335i over the C350.. IMO yes the MB does look a bit more luxurious, but the 335i looks more sporty.. if your looking for luxury you should look at the 5 series. entry lvl 5 is as much as a fully loaded 335i... 3 series leans more towards the sporty side while still having a bit of luxury in it.. MB on the other hand has poor reliability..

I parked next to one today at lunch time. The MB c350 was brand new with temp tags.

The MB is a nice looking car and had a more masculine stance that my 335I e90 w/ Sports package.

I like it alot and if the twin turbo 335I did not exist and the current high line non-M 3 series was on the performance line of a 330I then 350C would be my next choice. I would definetly take it over any of the Lexus or Infinities. But not over a 335I. The 335I power plant is such a GEM!

Again...the 350C has an awesome stance and has great lines.

I had an entry level BMW 528ix for three weeks....brand new as a loaner temp tags and all...that car is garbage as far a performance. Fat...soft and under powered! Body roll galore....I was so disappointed. Gotta go with 535 or 550~

exactly, so let it pull you in; the performance, the styling, the maintenance, the tuneability.......you'll regret not buying a 335i.
