Selling E90, need opinions.
Hi all,
This spring is sold my AT 03 330Ci with 114k miles for $11,250 after owning it for a year. I originally paid $10k, and then added 18" M5 reps (ebay), black vinyl over the chrome trim, black emblems, a V4 angel eye kit, and a $15 ebay interior LED kit. It wasn't worth that much by its book value. Mind you, i also did a lot of maintenance myself, which drove my costs of owning up substantially. I technically lost a bit money between mods and maitenance, but did pretty well for the sale all things considered. Currently, i have a MT 07 328i 4-door with 86k. Brand new battery, black/blue emblems, 19" VMR BV3s, interior LEDs, plate light LEDs, Blackline taillights, Black Khoalty grilles, and Carbon Fiber Splitters. I paid $13k for it in August, before modding it. I still have the oem wheels, but the runflat tires are pretty much shot. i estimate there is about $15k in it, total. Any hope of selling this thing for a profit or just what i put into it? Im not talking about what a e90fanatic or e90post-er would pay, but rather, what an ideal buyer might be willing to pay if i wait for the right price. the gentleman that bought my 330ci drove 400+ miles and still payed my price without even trying to negotiate me down. I would love to have another experience like that . 1. what do you think my current car is worth? Again, details are: 2007 328i 4-door 86,XXX miles 6spd Manual Trans Jet Black paint/ Black leather interior Cold Weather Package Sport Package Aluminum interior trim Factory OEM Shadowline (black) exterior Trim Brand New battery, Dealership installed & reigstered. Code-free, runs strong. Mods: CF bumper Splitters Interior LEDs Plate LEDs 19" VMR VB3 Hyperblack CSL-style rims w/ OEM M-stickers, kept original 17" BMW wheels/tires Custom emblems (blue/black) Depo Blackline tail lights (kept OEM) Black Grill + tri color (BMW-M) grill stripes Darkest legal/tasteful tint (35% front, 20% rear) smoke overlays on the orange reflectors of headlamps Overall, the car looks extremely sharp, and is in impeccable mechanical shape. I do still need to have it buffed/detailed, but am also considering plastidipping or vinyl wrapping the body like this to boost looks and hide any paint blemishes, if needed. Ive attached pictures of the car, which are shoddy instagram snaps, i can provide more/better ones if anyone needs. 2. what do you think a realistic selling price for it might be? 3. What's a solid asking price on the higher end of the spectrum? ps- (I won't try to highball the E90post classifieds as you guys know all too well what a good deal looks like ) thanks all, -Ty Last edited by BlackTyEvent; 12-01-2013 at 02:09 PM.. |

The manual trans and good maintenance helps a lot, but without sport package, premium package, cold weather package, xenons, etc, its still a base 328i at the end of the day- same reason you were able to buy it for 13k.
I'd try advertising it at $16,000, but wouldn't plan on being able to get much more than $13,500 or so. |

If I were a buyer, I'd carfax it, see you bought it 3 months ago, modded it, and are now selling it. I'd figure you found something major wrong with it and I'd low ball my offer.

I'd see what they are selling for locally, and that might help. I bought mine in March for $19,000, but had 41k miles, full service records, clean car fax, no mods at all, and was absolutely spotless in every way. Mine is a 2007 328xi, MT, iDrive, sport pack, winter pack, premium pack, xenons, and has factory shadow line trim.
For me, I was willing to pay top dollar because of how spotless everything was, the low miles, and options. I don't like modded cars much, since you never know what you are getting. Some are great, some have been screwed with quite a bit. In New England, most want Xi because of the snow, and manuals, which are very hard to find around here. A manual Xi commands a healthy premium for these reasons, wheres an automatic RWD is pretty common and a great bargain around here. All depends on the market. In Florida, AWD doesn't matter, neither does heated seats. Here, both are almost requirements. In the end, its worth what someone is willing to pay. You can always ask a high amount, and may well sell it for that. Here, $13-16k buys a RWD base without most nice options, and usually high miles. |

bump. Could use a few more opinions!
Updated listing to include factory shadowline trim, Sport package, and cold weather package. comparable Local listings ask betwen $14.9k-17k depending on outfit. Last edited by BlackTyEvent; 12-01-2013 at 02:20 PM.. |

check craigslist to get a base price. I honestly would part out what you can because a lot of people either want to customize it themselves or they want a stock BMW. Plus you lose money on aftermarket parts if sold with the car. Put stock back on, and sell the rest here
