Dataloggin via Laptop

Is there any software for a laptop that can datalog when hooked up through the OBDII port? I know there is software to upload flash tunes, but not sure about datalogging.

Either of the piggybacks, Procede or JB come with datalogging built in.

So does Cobb and OFTablet.

Without a tune, Bavarian Technic sells software and an OBDII cable that can datalog......but a bit less convenient in that you will have to export the datafile to an excel spreadsheet or other software than can make graphs out of .csv files.

There is now IOS and Android software that can be used via an OTG usb cable that comes right off your JB4, no longer need a separate laptop. (if you have an OTG capable phone) Search on N54Tech.com for the information. Search JuiceOTG for the software (if you're on Android - it's on the Play store @ $3.99). it's a V1 release, but it's a start.

I'm looking for software like the *********** open flash software, which I can't find to download. I want to upload .bin files without OFT, Cobb or JB4.

Datazapp easily converts .csv files into graphs.

I think the OTG cable is only required for a micro usb come to think of it. On-the-Go cable is the definition. From Wikipedia - "OTG, is a specification that allows USB devices such as digital audio players or mobile phones to act as a host, allowing other USB devices like a USB flash drive, digital camera, mouse, or keyboard to be attached to them."

Garage List
I'm playing with TestO which is using an INPA K+DCAN cable. It interfaces with EDIABAS and uses an xtract of MSD80.PRG in a BIV format which is readable. It's fast and can log everything that is available through the MSD80.PRG file used by INPA/EDIABAS/TOOLS32. It's free and the developer is looking for feedback so he can build dashboards. It can log multiple channels to CSV so it can also be dumped into DataZAP.ME for viewing once we have a standard format.

Test-O

I have an updated N54 BIV file is anyone is interested in playing with this. Just PM me. I'm sure Pheno will be happy if he can get more people interested in this application through the N54 project. You'll also need EDIABAS, so if you don't have an INPA cable and software, just let me know. I can help you source that online.

that seems cool. What are you using to flash tunes to your car? Is it possible to use a tablet instead of a laptop for datalogging?
