08 BMW 335i e93 update + jb4 review

Just bought my car about 3 weeks ago and I love it. Only problem I've had so far is the engine malfunction symbol come up multiple times. Now that I've installed my jb4 I'm gonna try and read it on my laptop. Anyways I wanted to do power first then cosmetics. So far I've done all led interior, led halos, cornering, parking light, fog, etc. I just installed the jb4 and dci. First thoughts on intake was it was still really quiet. I was expecting more... Jb4 on map 1 I can feel barley any difference. Only 1st an 2nd gear feel a little faster. I mean little. Next mods will be downpipes and intercooler next week. If anyone can shoot me some advice on anything please do.

First thing change your spark plugs ASAP if you haven't already. Need to read the codes to a sure but that's a must with adding the JB4 especially in an 08.

After this is done, go to map 4 floor it, then floor it in 3rd from 40 mph. Then repeat for map 1. If you don't see a difference you are crazy or there is something terribly wrong inside.

Then if you have e85 near by. Add 3-4 gallons to start. Out map 5 do 3 pulls in 3rd and if you don't feel a difference again refer above.

Lastly, log log log if you have the capability. And depending how many miles your car has - walnut blasting.

Secondly lastly, intercooler and downpipes? Night and day difference in map 2 or map 5 especially with ethanol.

My advice get the BMS back end. Trust me bang for your buck is worth it.

I have BMS DPs, JB4 G5 ISO, DCI, OCC, e40 (a little over 6gallons of e85) and the BMS Backend Race Flash and I just put down 421hp and 452 torque on a dynojet this morning.

So believe me when I say if you don't feel it. Something may not be right. Also car needs some time to adapt to mods as well.

Good luck!

was JB4 on? Put your boost on fuel. See how much you are boosting.

oil temp has to be over 160 for jb4 to work. Map 1 is a huge difference over stock. so if you dont feel it, it may not be working. put it on map 5 and try it. and 3rd gear is where you will see full boost

It was on map 1 I'm gonna try map 5 and add some e85. It wasn't at 160 though so that could of been it.

Yup under 160 will do it. Set the jb4 to flash your hazards when warmed up and to out boost on fuel gauge. And when you are above 160 have fun.

If you have any questions on specifics text me.

Before you do anything read the codes out of the car using the JB4 in dash interface. Directions are on BMS' forum.

Let us know if dealer discovers the jb4 in any way and consequently denies coverage, I wish him the best.

If it hasn't been mentioned the car needs to warm up before tune will kick on

Also, if u go to fub D and input 100 the JB4 will kick in on coolant temp which is a little quicker. There is zero percent chance the JB is not giving u more power!
