Had a recall on my car for programming?
All my service advisor said was that they had to flash the control unit. What is that? Anyone have the same recall?

My 2014 was held overnight a couple weeks back for re-programming. Car has newer software as indicated in Nav version screen and software upgrade screen in NBT.

I wonder since when software updates became recalls. On my e93 M3, I would beg the dealerships to update my software lol. But they won't do it. You actually have to pay them to update the software

I received and auto call from BMW stating that there was a recall on my car so I call my dealer and they tell me it needs an OBD program. Have it scheduled for next week. Anyone heard?

Took car in two days ago for the "programming recall", got it back last night. Invoices Reference to KSD2 Program and encode control units.
I noticed the engine Stop-Start is a lot smoother after the programming update. Not sure what else was updated. It was late so didn't have time to speak with service advisor. |

I had my 06/2013 build in for the brake vacuum pump thingy recall and the programming update yesterday. The ASS is a good deal smoother after the update (I will never stop laughing at typing things like that). I'd love to know what was actually updated...my SA wasn't really sure.
