What is this part dangling from my car?
hey guys, I have a 2013 328i xdrive and noticed something dangling from underneath my rear bumper this afteroon. It looks like its supposed to be attached to something via clips or bolts, but it's dangling via the electrical wires.
It appears to be a motor or sensor of some sort. Does anyone know what this is? Is it safe for me to remove(via the clip on the wire) until I can get in for service tomorrow? I'm afraid the part will be ripped off or burnt off via the exhaust if I leave it dangling, but unsure if its performing any vital service. |

Ahh thank you very much. Just removed it and that's definitely what it is. The car has a louder sound and a bit of a rattle that I noticed yesterday. This is the culprit.
Cheers! |

The rattle comes from the valve flap inside the pipe, nothing is fixating it. Mount it back and do a correct golf tee mod (without disconnecting the plug)
