Need help for the first time in 7 years!!!

Hi everyone,

I’m not much of a poster since normally I can find all the information I need. But recently the car started giving fault codes. It started with a battery message and:
P2c3b Lamba probe before catalyst
P2a2b Mixture control lambda
P29cd Misfire cyl 1
P29cf Misfire cyl 3
P29ce Misfire cyl 2
P29cc Multiple misfires
P29e0 Mixture control
This was on my winter tune a 13 psi roadcourse file (from a local shop). Then an indy shop replaced three coils (without consulting me) and a new battery, I guess cyl 1-3 and a full reset with inpa was done. Car drove normal for one or two days.
The all the same codes popped up + P2c77 (O2 post cat lambda signal), and also all the same codes with an H instead of a P before the codes + H29d9.

I the switched over to my summer file (PTF pro tune on 98 RON). When I drove away immediately I got the following codes:
P2a18 DMTL heating control
P29cf Misfire cyl 3
P29ce Misfire cyl 2
P29cc Multiple misfires

Other details on the car:
Have run two tanks of E40 three months back (tune not finalized yet), since then only 98 RON.
It’s a 2007/04 335i E92 with:
ETS 5” intercooler
Stett intake
BMS catless DP’s
Full Milltek exhaust
Forge DV’s
Car never gave any fault codes until now.

Could someone please help me with what would be the most sensible way of checking parts in a particular order?

Thx!!!

Looks like a bank one issue. Let's start with the easy, cheap fix which would be spark plugs. When were they last changed? From there I would look into injectors.

Try it on stock map first, if it runs fine stock, but not on your tune.. then try plugs

I'd say bad injectors. You have removed the 02 sensors I presume? otherwise bad pre-cat 02 sensor.

Sounds like an o2 sensor based on all the faults. I'd try that first. Also make sure the shop didn't unplug the o2s and then mix up the wires when they plugged them back in

It would be odd to have misfires on all cylinders on just one bank and it not be related to an o2.

Hi everyone,

Thx again for the replies and suggestions. The car is running strong again.
In the end it was indeed a bad o2 sensor.
