Please check my numbers - 428xi Gran Coupe

Hi guys,

I'm trying to figure out fair price for GC. Could you please check my numbers and tell me if I missed anything?

With dealer's profit of $750 & destination charge it comes down to $47,142. Please see Excel spreadsheet below.

Also are there any other options available in US that I *really* should consider (I'd love to have tech package but cant justify extra $3.5K for it).

Thank you!

ED invoice formula MSRP x .92 x .93
Options invoice x .91
Metallic paint is 550

42300 x .92 x .93 = 36191
Options 9550 x .91 = 8990
add 750 and 925 $46565

Tech invoice is 2866
Nav 1956
You get the small idrive screen without Nav

Also looks like smartphone integration is a separate $500 option now.

Skip the alarm and sub heated seats ($500) for the CWP and you just saved $800 that you can put towards the tech package. Alarm is worthless. You can't steal a BMW w/o a key these days.

You want to do ED, but without a Nav? C'mon man!

You guys rule. Thank you!

SamS,
What do you mean by "sub heated seats ($500) for the CWP"? Should I consider dropping CWP or..?

Good to know about anti-theft thing.

Hbdunn2003,
And smartphone integration.. how in the world its not standard?? I use Windows Phone so need to check how well it works with BMW.

I think he is suggesting that you substitute the heated seats instead of getting the whole CWP, probably because you could do without the headlight washers and heated wheel, although I've never used a heated steering wheel.

i think what he meant to say was drop the CWP and just do heated seats. however you live in seattle and im sure it gets cold, i use my heated steering wheel religiously in NY

if you have a windows phone, the smartphone integration will NOT work for you. it ONLY works for iPhones. so drop that immediately. Alarm is not necessary either unless you worry about people breaking into your car, not to steal it but to steal items from within.

if you want to skip the tech package, just get the navigation package alone. its worth it

Ah, got it. I did not notice separate option for heated seats. Heated steering wheel must be nice so I dont mind get entire CWP ($300 difference is something I can bear).

Nav/Tech package.. ugh.. why does it have to be so complicated. I already have given up on it and now you make me want to reconsider... Nav - does it give anything besides larger screen & gps?

Nav only you get this, tech adds heads up display.

609 Navigation system x x x
6AK BMW Online and BMW Apps x x x
6AM Advanced Real-Time Traffic Information x x x
6AP Remote Services x x x
6WA Instrument cluster with extended contents

One thing to note about the Alarm, you will not have audible confirmation of the doors locking, a blinking light below the mirror, or a panic button on the remote. These things may not be important to you.

Also without ZCW you lose the rear heated seats.

True, but useless for many.

CWP also adds the ass-ugly bumper cutouts for the headlight squirters. Not only are they ugly, but they just make a mess!

I just talked to a dealer in my area and his offer was $3.5k over ED invoice. I explained that I would like to get to $750 over invoice and he insisted that it doesnt make sense for a dealership because there is bunch of people who are waiting for the car to be ordered. And cars would go to highest payers or something like that.

Is it something unique to this dealer or would it be the case for all dealerships because GC is so new?

Are there any arguments I can use to persuade him to change his mind (other than finding another dealer which I'll definitely try to do ).

They probably are coming out of allocation so he has less incentive to use one for an ED deal. If they are not out of allocation find another dealer.
He would make more profit on a US delivery deal than ED at 3.5k over the respective invoices.

Probably will stop coming out of allocation in the late Summer.

This is the reason I didn't go with the CWP for my order. Even though I like the idea of a heated steering wheel, I dislike the idea of the bumper cutouts even more.

I specifically avoided CWP on my last two BMWs for this same reason.

Oddly, BMWUSA offered heated steering wheel on the AH3 as a $0 option (M-sport steering wheel, even), so I got that + heated seats. Best of both worlds! I have two car seats in the back, so heated rear seats are useless to me.
