Cheap rear induction tube fix

After doing many sets of turbos I was tired of fighting to make the rear induction tube stay on. I found this fix, it is a bit ghetto but works. There may be better fixes but this works flawless and is about a 5 min fix.

It's always surprised me that the turbo inlets are just kinda...hanging out there, nothing anchoring them what so ever.

So is the basic idea that by "tying" the intake to that stub on the manifold, it removes the unwanted slack and play from the entire rear inlet? If so, good thinking. Can't hurt.

Exactly, it pulls directly on to tube and they're is hardly any play.

I was struggling to figure out what was going on here until 135pats made it more clear. If I'm understanding correctly, by making this modification hook near the air filter, this will prevent the rear turbo intake tube from separating from where it attaches at the rear turbo. If this is the case, than this is great - mine had separated for a long time and was gathering oil at the connection point that would drip downward and across the trans, appearing as a rear main seal leak.

I'll definitely have to try this!

Is this the only modification you made or did you also have to mess with the bracket that holds the rear induction tube?

Good work. How does the engine move under load?

I want bigger intake pipes - fixed on to the turbo - but they won't fit!!

Took me a minute but I get it it now. Neat idea. After 20K miles I found my rear turbo inlet barely on. I was thinking "I wonder how long that's not been connected".

My bracket seems very tight up against the tube. I wonder if some dealers bend them to remove the turbos? Either way I may make a bracket like Vargas just to be safe

There is a bracket that is supposed to apply pressure to the tube....the weak bracket dies nothing. I have in past wedged things in between bracket and firewall to give more pressure and it never works.

I have BMS DCI installed now, but when I push on the front of the inlet it doesn't seem to really do anything, I guess I need to get it on a lift and have someone watch from below?

That would be best, but add long as itsis tight in that spot you should be good.

I don't understand why this needs to be done? When I installed my cones, they are on top of each other but the inlet pipe to the turbo doesn't move back, everything is in normal position...
