So this guy is tailgating me in -10 Celcius with snow/slush/ice on the ground, he's half a car length away so i do the proper right thing and brake check his ass! he didn't like it so he gives me a long stare.

While the theory works great the results of the brakecheck seldom equal the hoped result. The driver is prob. a *sshole who can't drive and the brakecheck won't stop the idiot. Tailgating is bad driving and those bad drivers are genetically stunned.

I err on the side of caution and I will err even more with a $60k+ car. People who tailgate prob love to key cars too and that'll ruin the day for sure.

Let the idiot pass or get him/her in front of you. I try to be safe. Plus who wants to get into a escalated assault with a loser. People get shot over sh*t like that. It happens here like it does in the US too.

Be safe man, that's what I say.

I usually just slow down to the point that he has to pass me in frustration.

I usually give couple of high beam and ask them to move if they are in the fast lane and holding up the traffic...

I have the rear fog light switch... so if some fool decides to tailgate in bad winter conditions, I just turn on the rear fogs and blast his azz... back off bee-otch!

I also do it the safe way, and just slow down to around the speed limit, if they still tail, then I will take 10 below limit
