Yea there was a short story on the National last night about this, good news for the new importers, and it may mean help is on the way for the other B/S requirements.

Doesn't stop BMW from changing your gauge cluster but yes, I agree, good news for importers.

I am surprised the gov't is listening to be honest.

they are listening.. it just takes time and lots of complaining..

i was actually thinking of putting up a petition on my site importcarcanada.com specific to the bmw situation.. unless someone wants to do it here?

if you guys support the idea, i'd like to set it up so it goes to the minister of transportation, RIV, BMW people, etc etc.. all you guys need to do is sign it online and send.

what do you think?

The Government responds based on "X" number of complaints. If 10,000 people called in the next week to claim BMW was ripping off importers with this cluster nonsense, something would happen.

The immobilizer thing was front page news last week, including a good story by the CBC - THAT'S why it is getting addressed first.

We should ask the CBC if they are interested to know the gruesome details of importing a BMW!
