Black & White - Matte black HRE on Alpine White

Finally the weather was good, my car was clean, and I had free time to get a few shots. Not the best shots. I went out a little too early and didn't feel like waiting around until the sun agreed with what I was doing. It's damn hard to capture black wheels on a white car and make it look good.

Alpine White 328 M Sport
HRE FF01 w/ Conti DWS Extreme Contact Tires
F: 19x8.5 245/35/19
R: 19x10 275/30/19
Suspension is stock M Sport

I feel the rear rubber doesn't go out far enough to protect the wheel from curbs or pot holes. Anyone else have this problem with these wheels? Should I go 285 in the rear? I'm afraid of rubbing with a drop.

Thanks, I think I got some good shots. Maybe I'm old or the scene has changed. Back in the E46 days people were doing all sorts of things!

Doesn't that front plate block a big part of the IC and restrict airflow?

Car looks great though, just avoid hitting any curbs in the first place, the tire won't protect it that much anyway in case of contact.

I wish. Pulled over 3 times for no front plate. Zip tied it on thinking it was temp.

I knew someone would say something about that. I'm no engineer, but that little square of intake the plate is blocking isn't the only part to get air from. I know what you are saying, but the plate is temp right there.

Should have just cut the ties for pics!!

looks good

As others pointed out the plate needs to go. If I lived in a state where front plates are mandatory I would place it on center of the bumper where it belongs. All other ideas look out of place in my opinion.

I would also propose a drop for a more aggressive stance.

I almost got out the scissors to cut that plate off because I knew I was going to get flamed. Just can't bring myself to drill holes in the front bumper. I have a skeene holder I've been meaning to install, but I like the thought of being able to go front plateless easily.

Yes, a drop is in order if I can ever get around to it.

Car looks good man. I hate Texas and their insistence of a front plate. I guess it makes the job easier for Law enforcement to ID a vehicle so you gotta just play along. Which part of TX are you in ?

And I will definitely second that the E46 crowd did a lot of crazy things with their cars, but you gotta remember the F30 is still a relatively new model. Once the cars become a bit more affordable people will pick them up and do some nuttier things.

I'm in South South Texas on my way back up to my hometown of Houston. 4 years in Mcallen was long enough. I was all excited about the rumor of no more front plates. Drove that was for a while and kept getting pulled over. Now you see its current state.

E46 was just a different time. Mine was all shcnitzered with iforged and kw's. But I was on the mild end of what other daily drivers were doing.

I just go my grill and it came looking like shit. With the wrong slats and a few broken clips. Would you be so kind as to inform us as to where you got your grill.

I think they are just stock M sports plastidipped or wrapped in Matte Black. The M performance ones come gloss black.

Pretty sure I got it from mod bargains. Matte black grill. But I noticed that IND sells all this type of stuff and when you order from some of the other shops they are just buying from IND and reselling. So why not go to the source? I learned that when I get my painted reflectors.

Thank you. I've been wanting someone to come with that information. I'll go with 285 next set of tires.
