Where to get the following mods
Since the border always causes issues, I want to ask where people got the following mods for their cars that caused the least amount of problems. Wondering if there are any Canadian retailers that are reasonable on price or if everyone just gets everything south of the border.
For instance, 6-10 business days via USPS has turned into 1 month for my wind deflector being sent up for my M3 Cab. Not that it is the shippers fault, but USPS was $40 for shipping and UPS (was a private sale) wanted $150. I should have my car in a couple of weeks. It is in Halifax now, if I am not mistaken. I want to get the following: Painted reflectors for the front wheel arch http://www.**********s.com/product.a...lectors_e92_PR Blacked out front grill http://www.**********s.com/product.a...kout_Grills_BH GP Thunder H3 and H8 bulbs For Angel Eye and turning lights. What bulbs go in the fogs? M Aero front lip (Has anyone tried the JLevi version?) http://jlevistreetwerks.com/BMW-E90/...duct_info.html M3 Lip spoiler http://jlevistreetwerks.com/BMW-E90/...duct_info.html Rear Fog light switch (Although I see that someone from TO ordered from Crown). http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26545 For wheels and chipping, I might wait until spring. Gives Vishnu time to catch up and to see what else might be on the market. I have been searching through everything... but there is just soooo much to read. Thanks for your help guys.

You can source most of these parts local, except for the blacked out grill, spoiler and the painted reflectors.
Problem is that the larger the piece, the more expensive it gets. Factor in shipping, duties...etc, you may end up paying the same if not more for some of these things. The smaller parts you should be able to get them from the sources you listed with no problem with USPS. Keep in mind it's holiday season and there will definitely be a long delay with receiving your parcels over this time (esp. since a lot more people are buying from US these past few weeks). The only two online supplier that I know ships to Canada is Crown and Tischer (have asked Circle but reply is very slow). I've dealt with both without problem. Only thing you have to worry about is duties and brokerage since they only ship UPS/Fed-ex.

Benyl, Check the neighbouring state for any mail depot places, you can have the items shipped there, and drive down to pick them up.

Haha. I thought about that. Montana is about 2.5 - 3 hours away. Makes for a day trip to do that. I would rather pay the extra shipping and brokerage than spend the time and $100 in gas it would cost.
It is a thought for some of the bigger items though.

I wouldn't use UPS ground to ship anything except the winter tires/wheels from tirerack. The brokage can cost as much as 40% of the declare value on the custom forms that the sellers fill out.
If your car was on Otello, You should get your car in about 3 weeks. My car is on route to Calgary and it should arrived in the CN yard on Dec 13. |

My car is on the Falstaff
Vessel: FALSTAFF Voyage: ED747-FAL The ship arrived in Halifax yesterday and left today. So I assume that the car is on the ground. Not bad considering I ordered it on Nov 30th. How? The EXACT car I wanted was on its way to a TO dealer for stock inventory. My dealer intercepted it for me. Hope to get it before Christmas, but it looks like it might be after Christmas.

We will offer a painted price and primed price. The paint will be a BMW OEM paint so there will be no imperfections and it will include a high quality clear coat.
When we have further updates on the products I will get back to you all. |
