I quite like it overall, can certainly see the appeal but won’t be getting one myself, the wife is enjoying her PHEV X1 which ironically won’t be available on the X2.
I was visiting my dentist today. I parked in his driveway and there was a new BMW X7. I thought it belonged to the previous patient, but it turned out that my dentist just bought it a couple of months ago. That thing is huge compared to my X1. :) In a way, a percentage of that X7 "belongs" to me because I contributed, right? :)

Don't get me wrong, I've know him for 25 years and he's the best. 20 years ago, he offered me a deal better than buying dental insurance. I give him $500 in cash a year and he takes care of EVERYTHING that my teeth need. I was one of his earliest patients, straight out of dental school 25 years ago.

love that area! first time there was 1980 when my parents took me crabbing. (back when the Bay wasn't so polluted) :) IIRC, we pulled at least 2 bushels of delicious blue crabs out of the water using just two traps within a couple of hours.

when I was tracking the ship that was carrying my X1 from Germany back in April, that car carrier shipped anchored off Chesapeake for 2 days. I anxiously watched and wondered why it wasn't moving. It was so close to shore that I was able to see the ship on the Virginia Beach boardwalk live webcam feeds! It eventually moved and sailed up the Bay and arrived at Baltimore the next morning. :) If your X1 M35i is already on the way, you may want to track it so you can go out to the beach and wave at them! :) The best ship tracking website that I found was this one: https://www.fleetmon.com/ (get the ship name from your BMW salesman)
We love the area. It’s really nice. I’m getting the X2 M35i that doesn’t come yet.

I like the coupe style like that new X2 ,X4,Glc,Gle,q8 buut X2 - hard pass.
I am waiting the new X3 - already told my dealer that the first moment they can offer the hybrid or m40 to get me alocation - will have all the new style interior, more space, better suspsension, more options, will be much bigger than than the X1.
X2 looks great in the front - but that rear….

That rear end is downright hideous

Bug eyed taillights, just like the shape of Mazda SUV’s . But sooo much worse looking.

Doesn’t sit flush & pops out in a fugly way

I don't know... but somehow the new X2 looks fine to me, especially in the new frozen Portimao Blue paint.

also love how the X2 M35i new puddle light looks

I wonder if it can be retrofitted to the X1? :)

I don’t hate it but it could be several other cars shunted together and because of this I don’t think it is a very cohesive design. The rear doesn’t look like it belongs to the front and side profile. The U11 is very distinctive and what I like about it is that it’s a little bit “edgy” and the design holds together better imo but there will always be some that like something different and see things differently. Extra choice is never a bad thing unless it means you can’t make a decision of course 😉🤓

I'm a little worried about what the next X3 will look like. One of the reasons that I bought the X1 was because the current X3 was a little old and I preferred something with a newer design. The X1 was that.

I sincerely hope that BMW doesn't biggie-size it and make the exterior look like the X2. A few years down the road, there's a high chance that I may swap my X1 for the new X3, but only if BMW makes it look good. :)

I assume the next X3 will take some inspiration from the X1 at least in some part. I think that makes more sense and then the X2 / X4 / 6 etc can have an independent design language. Should see soon though…

As much as I enjoy driving the larger X models it is overkill in the UK for two people to have something bigger than the X1 when we only do 7000 miles a year and have no kids/dogs/ or any cr@p to cart around in the boot apart from en route to airports. Also parking spaces are so small here now it’s just too annoying having anything bigger.

This , very excited to see what BMW does with the next gen X3

Looks wise I think it will definitely share a lot of DNA from the X1 , add in some design elements & bigger overall size from the X5 . That would be perfect

I could be completely off the mark here, but wouldn't it just be a different lens (or whatever you call the part which blanks off the projected beam of light)? If so, definitely possible to retrofit it IMO

Hi I am ready to order the new X2 and almost ready with the configuration expect the exterior color and the interior color:confused2
I am between Brooklyn Grey , Cape York Green and Black shaphire metallic and for the interior color Alcantara/Veganza Black or the Veganza Atlasgrey/Smokey especially with the black exterior.
Youer opinion pls

Black with the Smokey grey for me, not a fan of the grey cars they look bland to my eyes and cape York doesn’t do it either.

Look at the X1 photos thread and see what makes YOU smile the most we all like different things thankfully.

Yes but not Brooklyn Grey in the U11

Ive ordered the M35i in white with the pro pack. I think its looks awesome. Has an aggressive stance and very different to all the other boring cars on the road.

How did you do with discount? The dealerships near me pretty much flat out refused and said there's not a lot they can do.

I went through TRL/Berry BMW. They had allocation for the first UK delivery in March. Was decent.

I love Brooklyn Gray; CYG is a great color too. I don't love the 2-tone interiors; I'd get the Alcantara or the Mocha (disclosure: I have Mocha on my X1). But it's your car, not mine.

The weakest bit of the design is the “Megane” rear quarter from the angle shown in the second picture. Just doesn’t work for me although a darker paint would hide that better perhaps. That element doesn’t look “BMW”

Brooklyn gray is nice on my X4 but I feel like the X2 is a bit small for it.

Now if I could get this…..

If that color was available on the X1 when I ordered mine I would've seriously considered it. I'm not a huge fan of neon colors, but I really like that one.

Someone has a customer order of that colour on an X1, pics are in the X1 photos thread, it looks stunning, love the kermit. Not for me mind but a great colour.
