NZ man Lawson coming in beside MAX will make joe public think that its a wake up call seing how the already gone Checo folded though admittedly being in a on/off car that only MAX could adapt to like a duck to water.
The season I think will involve a lot of trick driving trying to stay within the rules on the border and being much closer with MAX, Charlie and Lew with Lando there causing a traffic jam but I have high hopes the RB21 will come through. A 1-2 for the fresh RB21 down under without Checo is not an unreasonable expectation.

Max had the fastest car for the end of 2022, all of 23, and Half of 24. Padding his stats vs a mediocre teammate.

Last season McLaren had best race pace starting in Miami. Towards the end of season Ferrari came on strong. Most of season RB was at best 3rd on grid in race pace, even 4th behind Merc some weekends. RB really seemed to be struggling with the car setup last year.

Indeed. RB had the fastest car 5 out of 24 GP's (up to the Chinese GP, and indeed it all changed when McLaren implemented their updates in Miami), so that's roughly 21% of the season..
How some people think that's half...

If you read back on the news, even McLaren didn't expect those updates to be thàt succesful . They (Stella) already stated in february 2024 (so pre season) that their car wasn't completely finished and that a few projects were still running and would be implemented as upgrade packeages (the major one in Miami), and that it would take them all year to get close to RB's performance.

Most of the season, Red Bull was 1st or 2nd fastest. I literally quoted a team principle on the matter. Max was out there losing to Carlos Sainz is near equal machinery.

Lewis Hamilton's fastest lap time in Ferrari testing compared to Charles Leclerc emerges as new details revealed

Lewis Hamilton's fastest lap time has emerged following his test of the new Ferrari SF-25 alongside team-mate Charles Leclerc at Maranello.

Leclerc and Hamilton took part in a test session on Wednesday, after appearing at the F175 launch to unveil their 2025 challenger. The Brit revealed that the pair landed back in Italy at 4am on Wednesday morning - with Hamilton making sure to stay awake while Leclerc did his morning runs in the new Ferrari to ensure they both had the same amount of sleep.

That will also have ensured another minor benchmark between the two drivers as they prepare for the 2025 season. While both cars will start the season exactly the same, the team will need to design setups for each driver based on their own preferences.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Hamilton's fastest lap time on Wednesday afternoon at Maranello was 0.8 seconds slower than the quickest lap set by Leclerc, whose time of 56.060 seconds was under a tenth slower than the all-time lap record of the track set by Michael Schumacher in 2004....
