Coding to disable TPMS
Has anyone successfully coded an F30 to not display the dash warning light and message in the instrument panel display when there are no TPMS in the tires?

why not just install TPMS? They're required by law now and just smart to have

I think you're right that new cars sold are required to have them, but that doesn't mean every car on the road is required to. I could just buy a set of TPMS, you're right. But, they do add about $225 to the price of a set of tires, and I don't mind checking the pressure manually. The warning lights and such would get annoying though.

I am monitorless for my winter setup too. Not a big deal to me.

I know if I get a low tire, it will put on the warning light, show a message on the instrument panel display (preventing me from seeing the outside temperature, mileage, and trip odometer that are normally displayed), and it will show a message on the iDrive screen when I first start the car. If it does the same things when there are no TPMS in there, I don't think I want to deal with that for 4 months out of the year. |
