Awesome news!
January build means it'll show up 6 weeks later, right? Too bad I wont be up in NY after December or I'd have to come down and check it out in person. |

Congrats Devo. I really thought you were going to pick up a slightly used 911 instead.
I just came back from a local dealer. He said similar things about US builds and all that, but when I started to push him on that a bit, he mumbled for a while and admitted that these are just estimates, and nobody knows anything too specific about US build dates. Appearently, what happens is that dealers, upon recieving their initial allocations, go into the system and enter their orders. The system keeps track of submission time and maintains that order (I guess, to a certain extent, per dealer). Then, at some point, BMW will start assigning production slots/numbers to the orders that are in the system, starting from the top obviously. But nobody knows for sure when that will be. Regardless, Jan build is probably a realistic expectation. |

Awesome!! They say anything about delivery?
You ordered without knowing price? Did you have to put anymore down?

I do have a production number. I am supposedly scheduled for an end of Jan. build. I just hope that the price is what we think it is.

I think that makes you the first person on this forum with a production number. What happens when you punch it in online at the BMW webpage?

I think you need to go to:
http://www.bmwusa.com/OwnersCircle/ And then go to "Add a vehicle" to enter your production number. Also, I just found this sticky, which seems to have more details on the process: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43692 |

Congrats! This definitely makes you the first m3post.com-er with an order.
It really sucks that they will take orders without giving you a price. Not so sure how keen I would be on doing that, no matter how close we think our price guesstimates may be. Sort of a principle thing. |

Yes, I understand the color is originally not displayed correctly, but is updated in a week or so. Anyway, congrats again, and let us know when you see your car literally go into production online. And it appears that I mistakenly gave you a hard time earlier in the whole why buy a 911 if the M3 is priced too high discussion. My apologies.
