I didn't feel ready at all but my wife and I had our daughter when I was 32 (by two weeks) and she had just turned 30. We didn't feel ready for #2 either but he arrived 22 months later. We both want to have a third but she would probably have to quit her job to make it doable and my wife is one of those people who needs to be working. The car situation also gets a little harrier with a third. Protocol seems to be either a true minivan (yuck) or a giant SUV.

My kids are the best thing that has ever happened to me.
I agree, seeing my boy on ice skates at 2, and holding a hockey stick at 8 mos. and having his pic with the Stanley Cup replica at the HHOF, these are just a fraction of the joys of being a parent. imho our kids, can do everything that we never could, at least in the USA. If they want to own a Lear like my boss' boss' boss, they are perfectly free to dream about such a thing, and go out and get it. If they fail, they tried, and wind up with a 911 Turbo S lol.

Did anyone see that couple on the news last night....husband had a Purple Heart, lost his leg and damaged his two (balls), and miraculously, wife was pregnant (IVF). You could feel the joy through the HDTV

I'm 33. My kids are 7 and 4. I have a hard time imagining taking my oldest to track days and autox when I'm just over 40.

28 and 32.

And yes it is true if you wait for a "perfect" time to have kids you will never have any. You have to trust you will ready whatever storm is ahead and jump in...

I'm 30 now and don't have kids yet... But if the GF becomes a wife, I'd say 3 months after marriage. I don't believe in having kids out of wedlock; I'm old-fashioned.

My son was born last November, a month before I turned 34. Thought I'd never have kid(s) but life just sorta started to slow down. We stopped going out as much, stopped the crazy amount of drinking, etc. So we started trying - took a week.

Never felt ready, still don't, but it's been an absolute blast and a whole lot of work!

Most people's first child is the result of drinking too much, not the result of drinking too little.
