This storm has officially gone down as the second most expensive in the history of the state at $1.4B. I had mine the garage under our apartment as always and I just gotten a detached one for my GF's new MB the week before. Most of my neighbors weren't so lucky as they, like all stupid Texans, use their garages for storage. I was out there after for a couple hours helping people tarp their cars. I helped one of my neighbors quickly clear enough space in his garage so he could pull it in (already WAY too late, his car was heavily damaged). MY complex looks like a war zone still. They just finished cleaning up all the fallen tree branches and leaves that coated the entire place. Windows boarded up everywhere...it's a mess.

I don't think it's economically feasible for every dealership to build huge garages for inventory to just sit in. The increase in insurance premium for keeping the cars outside probably doesn't outweigh the cost of building, maintaining, and letting dead weight sit in a garage, with little other benefit.
That said, a lot of dealerships do have garages but cannot keep their ENTIRE inventory covered. Feel sorry for the owners who will never know.... Does the dealership have to tell a prospective buyer a car was damaged in hail? I bet they don't, unless the buyer asks. |

Ah, I'll have to take some shots. Now, though, all you'll see is the boarded up windows (a lot of them) and the patching on all the roofs. I should've taken shots of the ground just completely covered in tree injuries! LOL! However, the pictures I linked from the Express News will give you about 90% of what I'm talking about as far as building damages go.
