Brooklyn Gray or Portimao Blue??
Okay so both my GF and myself are split completely 50/50 on this one… I'm hoping to place an order for an M240i in the next month and I cannot decide between these 2 colors. I *could* wait and hope 2 examples delivered nearby to see myself in person, but who knows when that might be.. Also just curious to see what the forums thinks!

Not sure if you saw this m performance part video but you can get feel for the brooklyn gray
https://youtu.be/D_QMf90e5Cw Also a side by side walk around https://youtu.be/OTZNSvN98m4 I was originally going to go brooklyn gray but after seeing those real life videos over the render I wasn't feeling it so I went black. Out of the 2 choices my vote is blue |

Yeah I saw the videos, unfortunately that blue is paired with dark gray trim since it's a diesel so it's not the best example. Lighting was pretty bad too
Might be leaning towards the blue, test drove an M340 in port blue and that color really sparkles in the sun |

Portimao blue has lavender tones. I thought I liked it until seeing in person and there is no way I would get that color. Some like it but hard pass from me.

I'm a sucker for the brooklyn grey myself. Having seen both colors in person (on other models), the grey really makes you stop and take a second look, for me at least. See if a dealer near you has anything in stock in those colors just to see the paint in person, that may help your decision. Portimao blue is a gorgeous color as well, and I'm generally a blue car person myself, so you really can't go wrong with either. If you're looking to build, but having a hard time deciding on the exterior color, I would suggest looking at what other options you want like wheels, interior color, trim (extended shadowline or not), caliper color, etc. Play around with the configurator and find the combo you like the best.
That said I ordered mine in thundernight metallic, but if that wasn't an option my #2 would personally be the brooklyn grey. |

they are both awesome colors imho, but I would go blue. however I'm partial to blue as my current f22 is Estoril blue and I just ordered a new m240i in Portamio. I feel like the gray isn't as eye catching as the blue, but still looks cool. what color interior are you getting? I see on the screenshots you posted it looks like you are considering the red interior. I was thinking of doing that with the blue ext too but thought it might be too much so settled on the black with blue stiching. I think the red would look really good with a more subdued ext color like the gray.

If you're set on the red interior I would go with Brooklyn over Port. I'm not a huge fan of the Superman look that Port and a red interior gives you.
If you're willing to move on the interior color I would go Port with a Black, Black with Sticking, or Oyster interior.

Neither is BG, I’ve seen it on the G80 and to me it’s rather dull/boring. So my vote is PB but with black or maybe cognac interior. |

Agree with all of this. The Brooklyn Gray might do better on an SUV or something but I don't like it at all on this car. I ordered the thundernight purple but portimao blue was my #2 choice. But I would definitely pair it with the black interior.

Brooklyn and red interior is the new ‘13 335 white/red combo. I’ve seen it on multiple 3x 30 and 40s at our place in Boston. But blue and red reminds me of Superman and just feels dated. The red is also way more maroon in person. I think aesthetically grey and red is better but it will be common and with every company doing a putty grey it doesn’t turn many heads. That’s why I did purple with cognac lol

You all make very valid points. Think Blue + black (with blue stitching) is the way I'm going to go… Not a big superman person myself and now that I see it, I can't unsee it. I was afraid the interior would be too blah, but I forgot about the ambient lighting that would help brighten it up
