How sensitive is the tilt switch? Does normal acceleration and braking trigger it?

If you are referring to the glove box light there is no tilt switch it senses motion. When I get the chance I will drive it with the glove box door open but I doubt the motion of the car will trigger it. I will report back.

Took the car out for a 20 minute drive. Had the glove box door open the entire time. At no time did the motion of the car turn on the light.

Finished the installation of my Blackvue Dashcam. Here are the highs and lows:
HIGHS
1: I was able to find several blank fuse slots (see picture) that had both constant power (battery) and accessory power (when car is turned on). This was a plus for me since I did not have to piggyback onto and existing fuse.
2: The dashcam works.
3: I did not cause an electrical fire or blow up the car.
LOWS:
1: The location of the fuse box is contained above the passenger footwell (US models) behind a panel which can be removed by a quarter turn of the plastic tabs on each side.
2: You have to be a contortionist to do work on the fuse box. You have to try and get on your back (extremely difficult and painfull) and look up. The space in the footwell area is very tight.
3: There is no obvious grounding point. Everything in that area is plastic. I found a metal piece with a small hole in it (see picture) and decided to attach the ground o ring to it by using a nut and bolt. Instead of going to Home Depot for the proper size nut and bolt I decided to go through all my nuts and bolts, I had in the garage, for the proper size. In retrospect this was a big waste of time trying various size nuts and bolts. Everytime I tried to use hardware from my inventory it did not work. I tried to drop the bolt from the top but could not access it since my hand was too big to fit. I tried to place the nut on the top but had the same problem. Being in all sorts of contorted positions was extremely painfull. Since I was working outside, at one point the sun was in my eyes and I could not see what I was doing! I decided to walk away from the installation of the ground wire and save it for the next day. The next morning I went to the Home Depot and picked up the necessary sized nuts and bolts. I even picked up a machine screw (more about that later) in case the nuts and bolts did not work. You might be wondering why I went with the nuts and bolts again. I had a bainstorm about how to hold the nut in place while tightening the bolt. I took some small magnets and dropped them down the pointer finger of my work glove to hold the nut in place. It actually worked but I was still unable to line it up. Having only two hands was not enough. I decided to use the machine screw. Problem solved right? Wrong!! I had gotten the wrong size screw so back to the Home Depot. When I returned home I assumed the contorted position and finally installed the ground wire. I check the dashcam and all was working properly. You might think I was finally finished. WRONG! I reinstalled the access cover to the fuse box. The left side clipped with no problem but something was preventing me from closing the right side which was not flush. Upon inspection it turns how that the head of the machine screw was in the way! WTF!!!! I ended up using a dremel took and shave away a small portion of the under side of the panel. By now I am sweating profusely and asking God for help. Well success! The panel closed properly.
4) But there is one more thing. There are two wires connected to that panel. An orange wire that connects the footwell light an a blue wire that goes to what appears to be some type of speaker. (See picture) I did not realize that disconnecting the blue wire creates a emergency call malfunction notification so be advised and learn from me.
I enjoy working on my vehicles and having the satisfaction of accomplishment but if I had to do this again, knowing what I know now. I may have taken a different route.
BTW: I will be seeing my chiropractor tomorrow.

I'm just curious why you added a dash cam when you have one already built into the car?

If your referring to the drive recorder it lacks all the capabilities of a dashcam.

Because the one included in the car kind of sucks.

Well I have yet to check it out after an accident but my options were, "ativate camera for an accident on or off, time to record before accident occurs 0-30 seconds, time to record after an accident 0-30 seconds and there may have been some more options but very similar to the choices you have with a dash cam.

If the drive recorder works for you thats all that matters.

-The front camera is in the grille, not up in the windshield. This drastically changes the point of view when recording, and may not offer enough height to capture what caused an accident in the event you rear end someone( like a car further in front losing control)
- with the data ports now removed from 2025 models, your memory for storing clips is now severely limited
- the ability to constantly record requires a USB flash drive and the app to remain open while driving, taking over your infotainment display, or not even available now that there’s no data ports
- the sensitivity of the impact sensors has been questioned in the past when it failed to record a minor traffic collision. Not a problem with a normal dash cam that is recording constantly.

I swapped out the glovebox light I got from https://www.yurikaccessories.com/pro...r-the-glovebox
with this one
https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Ligh...28&sr=1-4&th=1
This one is larger, brighter, stays on longer, rechargeable and has other adjustable features. It attaches magnetically to two brackets that mount inside the glove box with provided tape which I changed since it was not strong enough.

Based on your post I just ordered the same led lights (came in pack of 2)
from Amazon.
There appears to be more than 1 setting option. Can you advise which setting you found best for the glove compartment.
Thanks.

I have it on the auto setting right now. Remember to swap out the tape that holds the brackets. The ones that came with the light did not stick properly on mine. Maybe it’s a “one off” thing.
