Honestly I'm hitting it from 200 yards + so actually hitting it straight and for controlled distance is a bit laughable.

For my 4H, I am hitting it consistently around 200 and as high as over 220 yards. I know for a fact, I wasn't hitting that yardage with my 3i and 4i.

I do see a better ball path / flight when I hit with the 4H. High and straight a lot more consistent than I did with my irons above.

Had my golf league last night. Pretty consistent with how I have been hitting the past 3 times until the last 4 holes where my drives were spectacular! Changed a few things and it worked. Now I need to practice this weekend and keep the same feel. Wedge game was spot on too!

Thinking about taking my daughter with me later this afternoon to Dicks Sporting Goods to see if they have a 6H that I can hit to see the distance.

Update:

Went to Dicks Sporting Goods and they had a 5H, about 4 employees were just standing around and not wanting to help. Not one person came up to me.

Pretty disappointed!

I wish! Thursday thru Sunday my wife and I stayed at a really nice golf resort here in MN (Grand View Lodge) but my back and left hip flexor are all out of whack. I need to lay off swinging clubs for a week or two.

I did watch golf and it's pretty amazing what Scheffler is doing right now. That dude is dialed in.

Yeah. Played skins Saturday. Did the worst thing you can do. Shot low hurting my handicap (72) and didn't win a skin.

Oh man, that is a bummer. I bet that was killing you being there at a very nice golf resort and couldn't play. I know I would be bugging the crap out of my wife to play!

Hope all is well though with the back and hip. Those injury areas are never fun and always linger.

Scottie is pretty amazing to be honest! He hasn't been shooting 100% but he is tough as nails and knows how to get out of funky situations to keep him in the hunt and then go full steam ahead.

I can't wait for the US Open next weekend. Looking forward to seeing Bryson and Scottie play. Hopefully, together on Sunday for Father's Day. I watch both of them on Youtube..mainly Bryson and he is just a good down to earth dude who gets it! Rory...he's a piece of shit. Scottie, has been on a few channels recently, mainly the TaylorMade Golf channel and last month he hit 18 with Grant Horvat which was a good episode on Grant's channel.

Played Cinnabar in 96 degree heat. Hit several balls OB from feeling good and crushing shots beyond where I thought I would. Drives were just butter bombs - I hit one that I thought carried 250+ over the dogleg....we found it 3 holes later in the bunker, having carried 300+. I lost sight of it over the hill from the tee box.

Have a 90 hole, 3 day Ryder cup coming up in a few weeks...hitting the gym for cardio daily in between now and then.

Gross! 96 degrees...makes for a long ass day of sweating! But I am sure it felt good crushing the ball! What driver do you have? I seem to drive a few bombs and can never find the damn ball and I play with the bright color balls. I see it land and cant find it for the life of me.

My bro in law and I are trying to convince our wives to take a trip out west to Vegas for a long weekend so him and I can play every day and the girls can go to the spa or pool. (Who has a heated pool in Vegas in Jan / Feb?) lol.

I've never heard of Takomo clubs. They look really nice and I love old style forged blade styling. But they better be game improvement ala PXG inside. Don't know.

Maybe they are popular in Japan or other parts of Asia. As a person who has spent 10 years of my life playing golf in Thailand I still never heard of them. Wish I could help.

I know it's Grant Horvat's company (Youtube golfer) and reading the reviews..people swear by them. So for the price I am seeing, might just give it a shot. Not sure though.

Played with a guy today with a brand new set of Taylor Made 790s. Darn good looking clubs. He played OK and I haven't played with him enough to judge if he always plays irons like he did. He let me hit one on a short par 3. Was about 135 to a slight uphill pin. I hit my 9i about 15 feet right on the green (missed the putt for a potential skin but that isn't relevant just how my life is going this week ). He let me hit his 9i. Hit it about 10 feet left of the pin. But to be honest my PXG FELT better. Meh who knows.

Let me know if you buy those I'd be curious to hear what you think.

I have the PXG Proto 0811, it's the Gen 4 I believe. I've hit it back to back with the Gen 5, Gen 6, and Black Ops, and for me, at least, they're close enough I haven't felt the need to upgrade. I figure if I'm hitting it 280+ carry > 310-320 total already, another 5-10y doesn't make a difference. Dialing in my swing on my short and mid irons will have a greater effect on my game. And my putting.

I think I am going to pass on those irons for now. I have heard mixed reviews on them and will need to do some additional research on it.

I know I have said it before but my irons are over 23yrs old and the tech was first introduced in 1998. So I think if I buy irons that were new 10 years ago would be much better than what I currently have.

I will take time this winter and conduct a few iron fittings and see how things feel.

What shafts are you all running? I have extra stiff on my driver and stiff on my hybrid. Regular steel on my ancient irons and regular on my wedges. I swing with a lot of force and might need stiff / graphite for the new irons at some point.

I think Phil's competitive window has closed. He can't even do anything on the LIV tour. I think he is just out there getting his paycheck and increasing his YouTube subscribers. I enjoy watching his channel sometimes but his glory / Master's days are far behind him.

I was watching some of the US Open coverage last night and it seems like everyone who had a practice round struggle a lot! So it will be interesting to see who catapult themselves at the end of the day on Sunday!

Course looks absolutely stunning though. I know my wrists would be killing me in that 5" rough!

Yes! For sure! Just ask Tiger Woods about Father Time...or was it the booze?! lol.

I honestly don't think there will be more than 5 people under par. Bryson played it a week before and shot even. So it will def be interesting to say the least.

I know a lot of the YouTube golfers have been out there as well and they all have struggled a lot..which doesn't say much to be honest. Makes me want to start a golf channel so I can get invited to play at all of these superior courses!

Wife, daughter and I booked a family vacation for August this year. We are headed to Orlando Florida and the place we are staying has two 18 hole courses. I plan on bringing my golf clubs with me and play twice while down there.

Anyone have a link to golf travel bags they use? Not looking to get my stuff damaged.
