The car was very consistent, thanks to water injection I did about a dozen pulls and I did 5 back to back at one run and HP fluctuated by only 14hp max. The sound with Mid pipe is damn near perfect! Sounds like a much larger displacement engine. Very very deep and what little rasp it had is gone. The overrun sound is more menacing also. Dyno with mid pipe happening tonight. As far as lowering goes, this is something I recommend for sure. Never mind the visual beauty. It unloads the springs and allows them to function as intended. The car rides much smoother and does not jar over small bumps. Dampening is improved and I did not touch settings. It feels as though I softened the high speed compression. For note, it does not sit as low as my M4 with HR SS springs so very livable A vid and a couple pics. Happy Monday all!

Did going to the single mid pipe change the curve on the graph at all? When I had the AA midpipe on my standard car it seemed to increase low end grunt but I never had both graphs to compare.

I will be getting on the Dyno for that run this week. My butt Dyno agrees with you at this point.

That is amazing! Any additional plans?

Just wondering, are you a member of Alberta BMW Enthusiasts?

Good stuff, very impressive, so glad that you showed the results that would be comparable to what a DJ would show, this is the best way we have to compare, thank you!

Very welcome Drew! To correct the front page this was baseline before the Active single mid was installed. I have not Dyno'd with mid yet as I am waiting for a similar day climate wise. I logged the temp, humidity and Baro that day and as soon as mother nature allows I will do it again for a proper comparo. It has been very hot here last week and half. That said I was on track this past Sunday and my feeling is more mid range grunt. Top end feels similar to stock.

I'm interested in seeing the "heartbreak mode" numbers as that is what my car was dyno on.

For comparison, my stock 6MT M3 with 1200 miles on it did 367whp and 377wtq.

Great results! Sounds awesome!

I don't think a 15% loss is being conservative (unless you are looking to inflate crank hp from your whp ). 15% used to be a rough guideline for older manual drivelines and 20% was used for automatic transmissions. The differential is one of the areas where loss occurs, as well as in the gearbox cogs and bearings. With that amount of loss, there would be an extreme amount of heat generated in the transmission... Like 5.2kW (or 17700 BTU's) of heat with a loss of 15%...

A realistic drivetrain loss is probably more likely in the 5-10% range on the M4. But, regardless, nice whp numbers

Awesome stuff. AA mid pipe removes the secondary cat only, correct? Were you planing to do catless downpipes also? To have bigger power gains?

Correct. The car still smells clean out tailpipes The exhaust note is much deeper now. No DP's on my GTS. I have them on my M4, but without a proper flash tune to deal with downstream O2's I am not willing to do this to the GTS. The mid pipe is non invasive and can easily go back to stock. I really did not install mid pipe for power, more for sound. As a bonus it shaved some more LBs off as well. The car is so perfectly balanced in stock trim on track I don't feel power increase is needed for my use.
