I've been in China over 15 times in 2005/2006 and never got touched going there or coming back -- just the usual question -- "Do you have any food?"
The only time(s) I got searched were leaving Israel (but that is pretty normal there)...otherwise, going/coming back from Asia, Europe or NA, no problem. Am in India now...we'll see what happens on the way back...though TSA in Miami is cool...
