wow.. nice drop! it seems like the e90 is getting played out.. well at least here in the Bay Area. My neighbor lives on the left of me has one, my neighbor across the street has one, my neighbor behind my house has one, my neighbor 1 block away has one, my neighbor 2 block away has one.
I say get the g35. Better bang for the buck. |

I have both an 07 328i 6MT and an 08 G35S 5AT and I have to say I enjoy driving the 3 a lot more even with 78 less HP. It feels more solid, and handles better. The G feels too large to be nimble and the 5 speed auto is absolutely terrible in its logic. Maybe a 6 speed would be a better drive....
Bottom line, the G feels like more of a cruiser, while the 3 feels much sportier. But you cant go wrong with either

hmmm you get 335i performance and all the technology you could possibly think of for the same price as a 328. sorry to say, but the G is really a no brainer here. ive driven the 335i and G37 back to back and was hard pressed to find the difference in handling and power. i liked the gearbox in the G better, short throws, raw engagement for that solid lets-go feel. 335i is definitely more refined.
i dont know, if you are looking for an auto then that 7 spd is really really hard to pass up. 6 spd is a matter of preference, but you WILL notice the 100hp deficit in a 328. |

Go with the 328i, i have owned many infiniti's, G35's/G37's and such, they are horrible quality for a car you will own!! TRUST ME man, dont make the mistake!
This is to say your gonna own the car 3+ years, if not and your leasing, no brainer G37 sedan or the G35.

In my case, i've had two g35 coupes in a span of 4 1/2 years and have had no problems whatsoever. Infiniti quality is very good. My brother has the new g35 sedan and is very happy with it. I've driven it and it drives great. Good power, good steering feel, etc. I'd probably still be with infiniti if my brother didn't get the car.
So in my opinion, I would definitely get a g37s sedan over a 328i. You get a ton more car for a good price and great reliability.

I would keep my 06 330i before I got a new G35S I went down that road before. We sold my 04 g35 with 35k miles to buy my 06 330 and kept my 01 330i when it had 90k miles because it was in better shape.

I have one of each: 08' e90 335i 6MT and an 08' G35s 5AT.
Advantages/disadvantages: 1. Power Of course it's not a fair comparison between the 335 and the G35, but in your case the G35 will have a huge HP advantage. Between the 3 and the G, it's actually very close. The G, although far down in torque, doesn't "feel" that much slower although it's probably a 1/2 second difference. The G compared to the 328 is quite a disparity. 2. Handling The G will out handle a 328, assuming the 3 has no zsp. Between the 335 and the G, of course the 335 handles better and feels more connected. One thing to remember is that the G (s model) has a VLSD, while no 3 other than an M has one stock. 3. Styling I've come to love both, but it's subjective of course. 4. Price With the massive rebates on the remaining 08 G's you can get, it's a no brainer. You can probably get a G for thousands under invoice, while the 3 you'll be lucky to get anywhere near that. 5. Interior The seats in the G compared to a non sport 3 will be superior. The leather is nice, seats are supportive, good leg room, good back seat room (more than the 3), larger trunk. Sure the G37 has more bells and whistles (higher price to boot and not as great incentives), but between the two you're considering, the G is a better vehicle.

I bought a 2007 G35 in November 2006 (when it first came out) and used it for 2 years before buying a 335i. In my opinion, the G35 was a blast to drive. The car comes with a lot of features. As a few others have said, I think the 335i>G35>328i. I know a few people have questioned Infiniti's reliability but I had no issues. I have a few people in my family who have owned infinitis for many years without issues. Infiniti's reliability is known to be good.
I understand this is a bmw forum and the answers will be biased but test drive both the cars before deciding. I think a lot of folks here who claim the 328i is better than the G35 are not giving the G a fair chance. Good luck
