I had that problem with my old Mercedes with a single wiper for the entire front windshield. It didn't really lift off completely, so part of the wiper was always stuck to the glass if there was ice. I just sprayed the de-icing fluid(Prestone) and it always worked.

of course it was! MB used it in on W201, W124, W202, W210

I stopped buying Mercedes after they stopped using the big single wiper.

I have a thing for cars with interesting, unique wipers. For example, I had the Toyota FJ Cruiser with the 3 front wipers. Or my old Toyota Camry station wagon with 2 rear wipers. And of course, Mercedes with the single front wiper. And don't even get me started on headlight wipers because I'll keep talking about Volvos, Mercedes and other cars that have headlight wipers(my other wiper obsession) My friends used to joke that I could have been a character as the ultimate idiot at dinner in the old French movie, "Le Dîner de Cons"
