As mentioned above, I was able to order last Wednesday and received the VIN today so things are moving forward.

Strange that the online configurator isn't live yet but perhaps they're waiting until production starts in November?

So production of the 2024 X1 is starting in October? Will it include iDrive 9 which was supposed to start with November production?

"Production Begins" means that the VIN has been assigned and the parts ordered/allocated. From what I understand from other discussions, actual physical production won't begin for another 9 to 10 days when the "outer body assembly" begins.

According to all the information I've seen, ID9 is being included in the 2024 X1 (USA models).

I have the same info from BMW as you do regarding production begins. I used the "f12 process" https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2037104 to get the actual production date which is is November 2. Check yours.

Thanks. I was able to check using Firefox (slightly different steps at the end).

I'm a day behind you.

We're a week out from the publicized start of the November production for MY24. It seems strange the USA online configurator for the 28i is still not live given that dealers have been taking orders for the last few weeks.

I tried to access the online manual but it's still not available when entering the VIN. I'm assuming that the manual won't be available until later in the vehicle build process. Has anyone else that has placed a 28i order been able to access the manual?

I have not yet received a VIN, but will let folks know if and when! Also wondering when the configurator will finally go live, as we are ordering somewhat blind. Seems like it will be early November at this point.

Has anyone had any progress on a MY24 build with M Sport package? Genius said my production week was bumped to January, despite my dealer having November allocation. I'm wondering if this is due to M Sport parts being back ordered or otherwise, hopefully the dealer can find out.

Also odd that my build is showing the "2VC Mobility Kit" option instead of "300 Space-saver spare" tire that is supposed to be standard on xDrive28i builds with all-season tires (trying to amend that with the dealer).

Sorry to hear that. There must be something in your build holding up the start of production.

Did you order a 28i or and M35? I'm only seeing the 2VC as an option on the M35 and not the 28i in the ordering guide. Perhaps it was an error or there may be some other reason.

My order in the 28i has 300 space saver spare included.

I ordered the 28i with M Sport package. I wouldn’t expect that to remove the space saver spare, but hopefully I can have it optioned!

Very strange unless it's an undocumented change related to the M Sport package. Hopefully you get an explanation from the dealer.

It looks like my ordered Msport 28i also has a mobility kit instead of a space saving spare. At least I don't see the space saving spare on the build sheet.

My build sheet for a 2024 non msport X128i has "300 space saver spare" as standard.

Can someone tell me when the configurator online will show 2024?

It’s silly for them to be taking orders, but don’t have it online.

I wish I could but I can't. I was expecting it to be online earlier this month. My "guess" now is that it may not go live until production physically starts in November.

Not much has changed (except the base price increase) so the 2023 configuration is still a good measuring stick. The base model for MY24 includes Xline as standard (previously $500 in 2023) and the Premium Package decreased by $100. As far as I see many of the other options remained the same price.

Not sure if y’all have seen the latest pricing guide, but the MY24 has some new options. E.g. the Technology package that’s $800 less than Premium and excludes the Harman Kardon stereo, garage door opener and interior camera.

Another nice option is the Driving Assistance Plus package for $500 which includes ACC, vs having to pay more for the subscription later.

No known explanation, and dealer was unable to add the individual option for space-saver spare. So perhaps it’s removed for cost cutting on the M Sport? Bummer!

My24 28i went into production yesterday. Today it is showing currently in the paint booth. So yes 24 production has started.

Yikes. I haven't been checking as the projected date was November 3rd but I just checked now and it's also in the paint booth today!

The production date is still listed as prodDate:"2023-11-03" so I'm now wondering if they started early or is that the projected date for "Final Assembly" versus start of "Exterior body assembly".

That would closely line up with previous timelines I've seen for the actual factory part of the build. It might even be quicker now since they were supposed to be adding a 3rd shift to support X1 production.

Same situation for mine on November 2. I think it is the final assembly day when the car rolls to the end of the line finished.

Does yours have the 3M1/3M2 M brakes?

That switches to a mobility kit, I assume because the spare doesn't fit over the bigger front brakes.

Nope, just the standard 18” M Sport wheels with all season tires. The dealer told me that adding the M Sport package removes the spare for MY24. I wonder if this is an ordering system error that will later be corrected, or just an undocumented change.
