What happens when the flash drive is full, will it start overwriting
the earliest recordings?

Although am I right that constant recording isn’t available on UK cars?
Collected mine on Tuesday and dealer said it wasn’t.

Have a read through the attached link, this explains how the drive recorder works

It will not record or overwrite if the flash drive is full

Thanks, still have a feeling that in the UK we don’t have the option to record all the time. I’ll have a play with it this weekend.
If we don’t think will have to fit a dashcam.

I have tried it and you can record all the journey onto usb stick but you have to have the app open all the time. I presume you are on iD9 so I don’t know if it’s the same as iD8.

When I tested it yesterday on ID9, I didn't need to leave the Drive Recorder app showing all the time. I was able to view the map and left-hand widgets such as media normally.

I haven’t tried it for a good while, it maybe different on iD9 or the OTA update has made that possible on iD8, I will have to give it a try.
