Well, that didn’t take long!

I think the last steps will be the longest wait. Germany to Delaware might take a while. 😜

The next couple steps are the biggest variables. Once it leaves the port in Germany I believe it’s under two weeks to the east coast, and processing at the VPC shouldn’t take long as long as there is no work to be done before it heads to the dealer.

I wish my build was showing progress updates like this! It went status 150 on Nov 27, and there hasn’t been anything since. My sales guy showed me another build that had a status update when it went into production and then assembly in progress with nothing in between just to reassure me, so I guess some just don’t get as much detail. I’m on the west coast of the US, so it’s still going to be a while before mine arrives.

I am moving from a Subaru Forester XT to an X2 M35i. The XT’s ride is more stiff and noisy/active ride than the non-XT variant.

Would I have been fine with the regular X2? Sure. Is it as fun and engaging to drive as the M35i? Nope.

My spine does draw the line at the full M models though, so my husband has a M340i. We both prefer a slightly softer ride for our middle-aged bodies, and these cars are our daily drivers. Plus,
the sport seats felt much more supportive to me (which my back appreciates) than the standard ones.

No VIN yet? It’s easy once that is generated.

I have a VIN. I added the order into My Garage on the website with the production # when it was still status 112, and once a VIN was assigned, it started showing in the MyBMW app. There’s just no updates on the progress.

Oh wow. Yeah I think hers took about 2-3 weeks before it went to “Production Begins”.

I placed my order on 11/15, I got the notification from my dealer that they had the allocation on 11/21, and it changed to “Production Begins” on 11/27.

Honestly, the first part all went much more quickly than expected. We all thought that the allocation would likely happen in December, but I’m super excited.

Only in some markets. Here in the UK, for example, there’s no order tracking other than a very basic “here’s some renders of your new car” in the app. To find the progress of the build and shipping we still need to do an online chat with a “genius” (deliberately in quotes).

Not to hijack the post, but I think maybe you guys brought me some luck with my build! I’ve been stuck at Production Begins for 15 days, and it just switched to “exterior body assembly begins” sometime in the last several hours! Yay!!
