Also, $175K puts you in a pretty interesting competitive bracket.

As others mentioned - cool and fast cat, almost Tesla Plaid fast, but not quite.
If you want to go fast in just a straight line, always get the EV.

Well I have a BMW X6M and and an R35 GTR and I'm very impressed with the C8 Z06, same as Car and Driver who rates it 10/10.

BTW, brand new Model S Plaid is very reasonable $79,990 right now. And has room for luggage and +4 passengers (or track tires).

Interesting that you are very impressed with the Tesla but you don't have one.

There's a reason why people still buy Ferraris, Lambos, McLarens, and Corvettes even though they can buy a Tesla or any other EV that can be faster.

Agreed with both counts. A few super/hypercar marques are starting to make cars with manuals again which I'm hugely excited about.

But this is still a cool car with impressive numbers and will sit nicely next to the GTD.

Literally on the edge of my seat to see a decrease in reliance on dual clutch gearboxes.

True, alas the 3,800+lbs Corvette doesn't really belong in the above list of ~3,000 super cars (750S - 3,062 lbs, F430- 3,200 lbs, Aventador - 3,362 lbs).

Even GT3 is 3,362 lbs.
I will take GT3 over ZR1 (somewhat similarly priced) any day, every day.

At the porky 3,831 pounds, ZR1 is very much in the Tesla / EV weight class. TM3 starts at 3,862 lbs.
Whether you expected that or not, it is what it is.

That's a great point. I might have to back out of my ZR1 order and check out the ZX-14.

Define performance - what does that mean to you?

You listed 4 cars in the 3062-3362 lb range that cannot touch the ZR1 straight line performance so we know you are focused solely on handling as the definition of performance. Do you have track test comparisons of those cars against the ZR1? If so, which equal or beat it around a track so we can see how your definition of performance holds up. I’ll guess a new GT3RS will be close even though it is much slower, but have not seen the track tests.

Even a 992 turbo S 'lightweight' is about 3600 lbs, and if you don't add the lightweight option it's nearly 3700 lbs. The ZR1 is more similar to a turbo S than a GT3 but at the same time the C8 is a bigger car dimensionally. I've said it a lot lately, if Porsche makes the 911 bigger, or if it were as large of a footprint as many of these other cars, it would be equally as heavy if not heavier.
A GT3 is not really light anymore when most every Mclaren, which still are larger than 911s dimensionally, only weigh 3100-3200 lbs.

Ball up a Corvette C8 at 150 MPH+ and the injury factor is not much better between the bike and the Vette. In the Vette it might take you just a few more minutes in agony to actually die.

Are you saying performance wise or snobbery wise?

Everyone and anyone can say they will take whatever car over whatever car since time immemorial.

Mclaren 720 might be a lightweight rival to the ZR1 in terms of performance (straightline and handling) that can be measured in track lap times.
